Thanks Aussiemin,we to are new to this forum, we are travelling on Sun Princess in Feb 2010 and was interested to here from other past pax about there thoughts on the ship. We were on Dawn Princess in June and although we enjoyed our selves immensly have to say it was not the best cruise we have been on, found the ship to be a little tired looking (I know she has been in for a bit of a refit since) found the entertainment at times to be bordering on nursing home standard, a lot of very rude elderly passengers, there just did'nt seem to be the energy on this ship that we have found on past P&O cruises and our Rhapsody cruise although there were a lot of older passengers they still seemed to cater for all age groups unlike the Dawn Princess. interested to hear comments on the Sun Princess

Hi Robinph

Im not up on the Dawn Princess only what i read on here and yes i saw the pictures of the refit, it looks great now.

You will enjoy the Sun Princess im sure, there was about 60% of retired people on our cruise but the Sun catered for everyone.

We are not retired persons and we enjoyed all the shows (missed a couple in 16nights) we even did the disco which opened till 1 or 1-30am.

Spent a lot of time in the Wheelhouse bar watching Allan and Ladonna who were brilliant Ladonna has a personality like no other.

Allan was brought up 3 doors from where my mum and dad live so we had lots of chats about home now he lives in texas so along away from home.

Plenty of Dancing and singing along to their music.

Or just a burst in the Casino for an hour whatever we always found something to do.

Island night we were one of the last to bed dancing in the shallow pool with newfound friends.

The activities at sea days my hb joined in a few games even the WII games which he never done before.

Our cabin was lovely and well looked after by William not that we were in it much.

3 Formal nights we had nice to get dressed up

If you have children they were well catered for i looked in their areas and watched the children they were having a ball even the teenagers that were on our cruise were never stuck for anything to do.

Hope this helps

Great to hear them mentioned on the board. We enjoyed their music and entertainment on Dawn Princess Round Australia cruise. They were the highlight of the cruise.

Hi Aussiemin and so nice to bump into someone who been on the cruise we booked for next year. Welcome to the boards.

It was great for you that the Sun Princess left from Fremantle. We have a long light over from Yeppoon (Rockhampton -Brisbane-Perth), but will enjoy seeing your beautiful city too on either end of the cruise.

Cheers,

Anna

Thats good to know. We have quite a few storms here in the subtropics which can cause quite a bit of damage as well. Always good when there is no loss of life. Material things can be repaired.

Hi Trish and welcome to CC.

We (DH and myself) cruised on Sun Princess in 2008 (nearly 18months ago) and would love you to write a review of your June trip so that I can

get my fix on cruising. We have nothing planned for a while due to farming commitments and a son who is presently in Europe. Seems to be the wrong way around - we are home working while he is off travelling - however, I have assured him things will be different when he gets home!!!

Would love to hear your impressions of the ship and the ports you called at.

Cheers

Hello Cinnabel

I have written a review for you on the board,im not very good at it but done my best i would never make a journalist ha ha

When your son gets home from his travels you show him the tractor and tell him its his turn to get those crops in and you two can go kick your heels up.

Aussiemin:)
