The A Train Posted July 23, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2009 We were at today's very impressive welcome at the French Culinary Institute in New York City where the aforementioned was announced. Oceania continues to do everything just perfect!
Druke I Posted July 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2009 I'm not a foodie, but I am waiting for release of the deck plans for Marina. We are ready to book its inaugural trans-Atlantic. Allegedly, bookings will open late Aug or early Sep 09.
katz Posted July 23, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2009 I saw the announcement on AOL. It didn't mention what the extra charge, or if there would be one, would be. Sounds exciting.

There now is an article on cruisecritic itself; definitely no extra charge.

Here it is: http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=3334 One quote: "Spokesman Tim Rubacky also told us the line will soon be announcing an innovation that's a first in the industry...." Anyone got any guesses what it might be? Chef's table. Chef goes ashore to shop for local ingredients, and prepares a special meal. Don't know for how many people though. The A Train Posted July 24, 2009 #11 Share Posted July 24, 2009 For the record, post #8, referenced to the capsule review of the "cocktail hour, etc." at the French Culinary Institute, incorrectly notes the Maiden Voyage at September, 2010........'twill be December, 2010. The review also failed to note that the attendees included 5 couples from the NYC metro area, NY, NJ, and CT, with almost 50 cruises total. And, the current target for release of Marina's initial schedule is early September, to be issued seperately after new schedules have been issued, for post November, 2010 dates, for the other three ships, which are scheduled for the end of August.
