Magen's Bay taxi...How much?

The rates are posted and it is $8.00 per person, in an open air safari-style taxi, which holds about 16 - 20 people. Our driver was very smart: he stopped before town and collected the money from everyone so that no one would "ditch" when we all got to Magen's. There was no negotiating - his price was his price and no one even attempted to bargain.

OP, when you get off the ship you will go to the taxi stand where a dispatcher will direct you to cabs for various destinations. Many passengers go to Magen's Bay so the wait is not long at all. The admission fee to Magen's Bay is an additional $4.00 per person, so be prepared.

Enjoy your trip. St. Thomas is beautiful. :)

Thanks so much for your reply. We have been to St Thomas twice before but this is the first beach experience there. Once we took a boat ride to St John which was a beautiful island, but the boat ride over and the scary driver we had over there were enough to make me physically ill! (Long story) Never again.

Thanks again!

Laurie

^ No problem; taxis will line up and wait to fill up. You may have a few minute wait because the drivers want to return to town as full as possible, but it's no biggie. Just don't cut it too close.

I think it was about a 20 minute drive each way. Coming back is spectacular - have your camera ready!
