Maho and where???

Hi guys,

We are going on our first cruise in October on the FOS, we would love to visit Maho beach to see the planes landing (other half would get great kick out of this! :)) Can anybody tell me what is the easiest way to get to Maho without going on an organised tour excursion.. Do you get a taxi or water taxi and how much is this usually from the ship pier?? Also is there somewhere else en route which is worth a look, any really nice beach to relax.

Hopefully somebody will be able to help me..

Thanks a mill

Jenx

Maho Beach is (obviously) near the airport. It is not possible to take a water taxi there. Take a regular taxi that you will find at the port when you get off the ship. Not sure of the cost. Should not be more than $8 or so per person each way. We were there last week and it is a cool place to visit.

Thanks for your replies, they have been very helpfull. Just another question, is there any nice exotic (relaxing) beach to go too enroute to Maho, would love to relax on a nice sandy beach for a few hours after the excitement of seeing the planes in Maho, preferably looking for the name of a nice beach on the same route??

Thanks

Mullet Beach is nearby, we have never used it and can't comment.

The top beach is Orient but it is on the other side of the island, unless you have a rental car, not that practical.
