Navigator of the Seas - Grand Suite noise

CLOU

Recommended Posts

We are thinking about splurging on a grand suite for a short upcoming cruise. I noticed on the deck plans that all of the grand suites are below the pool deck and bars. If anyone has stayed in one of these suites, can you tell me if there is a problem with noise from the pool deck, i.e chairs being moved, loud voices, etc.

Thanks for any input.

We were in a GS on Radiance under the Solarium pool... We were woken early morning most days by noise - people dragging chairs. Also, there was a chocolate buffet at midnight one night in the solarium. The noise and rearranging of furniture lasted until the wee hours.

We no longer will book unless there are cabins both above and below ours. I would rather have a D1 on a middle deck than a GS on the deck below the pool.

Just my experience.

We PREFER deck 10--only 1 easy flight to the pool! Noise has NEVER been a problem for us. I guess it depends on your tolerance for "ambient" noise! We generally hear more from the hallway (and that's true on EVERY deck in every room!) than from above or below!

I was on Voyager of the Seas last month and stayed in Owner's suite 1308 on deck 10. I could hear noise coming from the pool deck above while lying in bed at night: people walking on high-heels or boots, chairs and tables being dragged along. I confess that I do have sensitive hearing and the noise woke me up in the middle of my sleep -- god knows what these people were doing on the deck pool at 3-4am. However my mother being deaf was not at all affected by the noise.

  • 1 month later...

It depends on the location of the cabin. Check the deck plans carefully. If the room is below ping-pong tables or under an area where there are a lot of deck chairs, you will most likely get some banging noises above you. On NOS, deck 10 rooms are best under the spa area, on the hump, or under the carpeted Windjammer. Also, rooms under the Solarium are a little better than under the main pool area.
