scchasgal Posted August 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2009 Does anyone have any shopping advice or experiences on Bonaire? If you are looking for jewellery we were warned about Atlantis. Most of the items are a good deal but buyer beware.
Dushi Posted August 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2009 Bonaire is far from being a shopping paradise unless you are in the market for dive related gear and clothing. There are some local vendors in a tree-covered area near the pier where we bought some handmade glass-blown jewelry and most of the shops are on the main street. DiveCruiser Posted October 3, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2009 Does anyone have any shopping advice or experiences on Bonaire? Well Bonaire is NOT a St Thomas or Grand Cayman. It is a teeshirt, wrap arounds and a few jewelary stores. Litmans is the best. Bonaire is one of the scuba diving capitols of the world. You can get many different types of food thru out town. German, dutch, chinese, south american, swiss, Italian, etc... Bob
Rare JustinPlusLauren Posted December 24, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 24, 2009 Bonaire isn't really a shopping destination, it is more about seeing the island and its natural wonders. If you are looking to shop, we did stop by a local craft market that was just within walking distance from where our ship was docked that had some locals selling their wares, handmade jewelry, Christmas ornaments (we went around Xmas time), etc.

CruiseandDive Posted May 14, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Well, depends on the food you like but Wattaburger has some great burgers, City Cafe for ribs but everything there is good! Shopping, Bonaire Affair is one of our favorites. There's not alot of shopping but one place to avoid is Jewel of Bonaire. Friends had bought diamonds there only to find out that they weren't what they claimed:( There's a beach next to where you dock, great snorkeling, its a must do! Have fun! Wow, and we were warned about Jewel of Bonaire. Sold our friends some diamonds that were hugely below the grade they said. I'll keep Atlantis off my list as well! Thanks! Peace2U Posted May 15, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 15, 2010 There are many nice shops on Bonaire, right near the cruise port. We only bought a mouse pad but it's a good one and only cost $7 or something. We got it at Bonaire Affair.
kendon Posted June 12, 2010 #11 Share Posted June 12, 2010 Go left at the dock and keep on going until you get to a very quaint shopping area, colorful and touristy, "main street" like. There are enough shops to keep you busy for an hour or so...delft, t-shirts, etc.. As someone else mentioned, there is usually a craft market within walking distance also.
