Hellolost---thanks for answering my questions. I've enjoyed reading about your journey. Is it okay to ask how much it cost to get your salmon home? I'm not sure of etiquette on these boards. It's okay not to answer :) I've been encouraging my husband to go salmon fishing. He seemed rather excited when I told him about your experience. He got a good laugh about the big bruise on your leg. Been there, done that. We've also booked the butterfly garden. I'm so excited. My 8 year old daughter is going to be thrilled. I also told my husband the story of your honey's pants. I bitched at him repeatedly to try his suit on......it's only been 5 years. Of course, it didn't fit. Plan B is a sports coat and dockers. Good to know he'll be allowed to eat his lobster ;)

HelloLost, Enjoying your post. We were on the Golden at the same time you were on the Sea Princess. Saw your ship in Juneau and passed you by in Haines. We went to Tracy Arm but couldn't get to the glacier because of ice flow. Since we got into Tracy Arm we didn't get that on-board credit.

We sure did have amazing weather in Alaska though. By the way we just had our salmon delivered today too. Only my husband went. We had 13 lbs of fillets sent, no smoked. It cost $89 total.

Your review has been a riot to read. Having just returned myself from Alaska I have really enjoyed reading this. As I do get seasick, I was having a hard time reading your account of heading out of SF, having been there, done that, many times out of SF to Mexico. Please next time take Bonine, it will help you!! Also, really could connect with the hubby and the tight suit pants. Seems we had the same issue last week on the Coral, only mine wore them and suffered! Thanks for a great review.

I think Princess should hire you (and of course Honey) to do nothing but write reviews of all their ships. I have enjoyed your writing and have found myself laughing out loud while reading them (not good when at work). I do have one question, just how small is the casino? Number of slot machines, roulette, blackjack tables? We leave SF on September 25 for the Panama Canal and like to spend my allowance in the casino. Thanks and think about becoming an author, I would buy all your books.

There was probably about 30-40 slot machines and on the other side was tables. Since I don't play cards (I get nervous and forget how to count) I couldn't tell you how many tables there was.

Now it is time for me to figure out what my next cruise will be.

And go get my orphan dogs... you know they feel like orphans having been away for so long. Actually they are probably spoiled rotten since they have been at my grandmothers for so long lol. She lives a little over three hours away so I won't be around for a bit.

I still need to put up the last day and pictures. I may put up the last day before I leave.

And!!! I would love to write but have no idea what... so I worked in construction as a estimator lol

You do have a great sense of humor. We went to Butterfly Gardens in Ontario and it was magnificent. We sail in 2 days on Golden Princess and I am even more excited after reading your report. I am insisting that DH try his suit on before leaving. Unlike you, I will go the dinner without just to prove a point.

I had one of 'those' pictures on Carnival. The minute I walked in the gallery I kept getting stares and people were sooooooo helpful in letting me know where to find my pics. Strange to most but my pics are not all that hard to find. I found the pic and saw that more than my bright smile was on display. Not as bad, but it was close to the Janet Jackson costume malfunction that changed the way we view the the Superball forever:eek: Other than that is was a lovely picture with just one little thing out of place. Beware if sailing on Carnival, they won't let anything get in the way of them taking that picture.

I would love to be on a cruise with you but maybe on RCCL. I would love to read your report on trying the rock wall and the wave rider.

Wonderful report....thanks a bunch!

Oh my gosh….. I just got back from Alaska too, and your visit was oh so much like ours (only so much more fun!). This has been one of the fun’est reads I’ve had on these boards…. I would so like to sail (and dine!) with you and yours….

Yours comments on your formal nights cracked me up (my ‘honey’ rags on me for never trying on my new stuff till the last minute – but till it’s un-packed on the ship.. priceless). And the bear poo… yup, that is gonna be a long hike in the woods (do bears poo in the woods…? Nope, they poo where ever they want).

I can’t wait for your final days on board (and departure?). What a great trip – wish we had been on your cruise!

Day 10....at sea

So today was our final day on board. Man how did the time pass so quickly. I remember around the third day wondering if the honey was going to be able to handle being at sea for so long but here we are at the end. Sad!

We started out the day with some breakfast and decided we might as well pack after. I am not sure if any of you have been in a inside cabin but man is it small when two people plus what seems to be 4000 suitcases are in that same area. We must have bumped into each other a hundred times before I lost it a bit. I told the honey put dirty clothes on this side of the bed and clean on the other. After he put them on the bed I told him to sit down and do not move. I then proceeded to pack everything without having to smash him over the head with a suitcase.

Funny thing here. When we arrived on the ship our suitcases were packed to the gills. And we bought a ton of stuff in port. I was a little nervous  But when I finished packing we had a empty suitcase!

Yes! I am a miracle packer. *flexes muscles*

We decided to take a walk up to the front of the ship. I grabbed a cup of coffee right before we went around the little dividers. As soon as we passed the first one the wind started blowing. When we passed the second one it really started to blow. When we reached the front of the ship we were laughing at how the coffee was blowing out of my cup due to the wind. Well I was laughing until I looked down and saw my cup was empty and I was covered in coffee spots. Stupid wind lol

We ate yet more ice cream and went up to our final dinner with our tablemates. I have to admit that I was kind of sad that this was our last dinner. I got attached to them all and I am going to actually miss them. I wish I would have gotten their addresses so I could send cards.

When dinner was over there was a lot of hugging and kisses on the cheeks. My eyes filled up with water and I think I looked like a goon. After all who becomes so attached after 10 days. That would be me. :o

We decided we were going to go see Star Trek but were 15 minutes late to the show and decided to go see Larry the piano guy in the vista lounge. Normally he was in the martini bar. We should have skipped it. Not as funny. But I could see our tablemates on the other side of the room. sigh.

It was then bedtime and time to mentally prepare myself to leave this vacation. I was kind of sad.

My next post is the end... disembarkment.. sigh

Thanks, again, for sharing your Alaska adventure with us. I loved every moment.

I read your blog about your Uncle and now your Grandma. I hope that you can enjoy the memories of your Uncle and you and that you will share yourself with your Grandma and, make more memories with her!

I hope our paths cross on a cruise ship. We'd like each other!!!!!!
