Jeafl Posted August 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2009 I'm trying to book the (so far) cruise from Hades and could use some advice. Is it better to book cabins on the Empress deck, all the way forward, or the Upper Deck midship on the Liberty? When you are up that high on the Empress, will you feel a lot of swaying? semichigan Posted August 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2009 You will feel more movement farther forward than you will mid-ship.

Hello to my fellow Illinoisian:).. You will ALWAYS Feel move movement toward the front of the ship as that is where the Bow cuts into the water. The higher decks you go, you will also feel more motion. If your worried about it, I would take a Midship location and lower if you can.. Take care
Jeafl Posted August 3, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted August 3, 2009 Ok, thanks. Will being directly over the casino be a problem (noise-wise)? We are looking at mid-ship, upper deck right now.
firefly333 Posted August 3, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2009 Ok, thanks. Will being directly over the casino be a problem (noise-wise)? We are looking at mid-ship, upper deck right now. There have been several thread this past weekend asking about over the casino and so far no one said they minded it. I cant imagine the gambling sound being as loud as many other things you can be over that it would go thru the flooring up into your cabin. We have even been behind elevators and the cabins do have good insulation against sound to me. I think Im on your cruise to Hades :D Been dealing with the TA who works for Hades since last Thursday. Welcome to Hades, come on in the water is fine, you can deal with whatever you get.
BlueC5Kitten Posted August 3, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2009 I've sailed the Liberty on Empress Cabin #7275 (forward) and on the Verandah #8352 (midship) and had no significant movement aside from the little bit of rocking at night.
ehfl Posted August 3, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 3, 2009 I like being rocked to sleep, and have always thought it was a bit unusual for someone to book a vacation on board a ship, then do as much as they possibly can to avoid feeling any motion. Different strokes, I guess.
