cruisinsince99 Posted August 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2009 OK - so the first thread was not named very well. We have a couple of quick questions that one of you might already have the answer: 1. Cost to get from ANC to Capt Cook hotel?? 2. Can we walk from Capt Cook to train? 2.2 If no, what will it cost to get there? 3. Can we walk to the ship from H.I. in Seward? 3.2 If no, what will it cost to get there? 4. Which pier does ship go into in Vancouver on the 21AUG2009 sailing (Radiance)? 5. Can we walk to Amtrak from it? 5.2 If no, what will it cost to get there? 6. Where exactly does the Amtrak end in Seattle?? Thanks!!!!
Texas Tillie Posted August 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2009 All I can speak to is ANC to downtown. Did it 7/9 this year, about 8 PM (so after rush hour) and the meter read $20.95 when I got to the Sheraton. Since taxi meters are figured on distance and time, it could be a dollar or two more for you. I'd been told here on CC that it would be $25 with tip. So, there you go! Warrior1 Posted August 9, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2009 We stayed in Seward this summer for a few days in an RV. I'm assuming H.I. is Holiday Inn Express, which I don't think is very far from the ship. I wouldn't think a cab ride anywhere in Seward would be too much--it's not very big. scottbee Posted August 9, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 9, 2009 4. Which pier does ship go into in Vancouver on the 21AUG2009 sailing (Radiance)? 5. Can we walk to Amtrak from it? 5.2 If no, what will it cost to get there? Ballantyne Pier; see http://www.portmetrovancouver.com/about/cruiseandtourism/cruiselineschedules.aspx for dock/cruise schedules 5. No. It's in a very rough and ready dock portion of town, the other side of a dockside security gate, and if you did walk, there is 3 flights of stairs down from the road overpass. 5.2. Cheap, under $10 for a cab, it's only about 1.5 miles from Pacific Station
