Casino Question

It's been awhile since we've been on a cruise, and are wondering about changes in the casino. Are payouts still in coins, or have the ships gone to the paper slips? Do they have 'players cards' to insert into the machine to track play? We're going on the Majesty in 2 weeks and are just wondering....Any info would be greatly appreciated!

It was still coins in June/July for machines on the Brilliance, I expect its the same for most.

Freedom uses slips instead of coins.

This is one area that Carnival has a great program. When you sit down at a machine you put your Sea Pass (sign and sail) card in and set up your account with a password. Then you put say $50 in the machine. Play for awhile and decide you want to change machines. Access your account and tell the machine to download the money left to your card. Go to another machine and download all or part of this money to that machine. It's great. If you want the cash take your card to the casino cashier and they'll give you the cash.

Sure wish RCCL would set this up on their ships.

The Freedom has paper, no coins and you insert your seapass to collect reward points. We gambled about 50$ a day at the slots and got enough for a couple of free drinks, 2 t shirts and a handful of keychains.

As for craps and table games you really have to be a "Highroller" to be acknowledged by RC's players club. My DH plays craps every night and plays for a few hours but not near enough to join that elite group where you get invited on cruises etc. He does get free drinks but thats it. They do watch players and if you meet their criteria they'll approach you with open arms lol.

On those ships where you insert your seapass card in the slot machines and accrue points as you play, you can redeem the points at the cashier's window at any time during the cruise up until a specific deadline on the final night of the cruise. Slot machines on some ships still disburse coins while others use the paper vouchers. I seem to remember one ship where some machines paid out coins while others printed out a voucher. That was a bit disconcerting if you inadvertantly put your money in a coin disbursing machine and then had to find a bucket to collect your winnings.;)

Does anyone know if the slots on Voyager use paper tickets or coins? I just hate changing machines when I have to put all the coins in a bucket! Thanks...
