Rare mizLORInj Posted August 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2009 They'll give you a sampler plate with one of each. Also they have each ingredient laid out by each roll so you can see what's in it which I thought was cool. I liked it!
Akiba Posted August 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2009 I had the Sushi on the Triumph in June 09 and it was pretty good.I do eat sushi and would put it par with a top sushi restaurant but better then the mall sushi places and better then some in small take out in Phila.Definitely good for a first timer nothing really exotic or strange. Enjoy

Smuncha Luncha Posted August 22, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 22, 2009 We had the sushi most evenings on the Miracle back in March. First time for DS & DH but they enjoyed most of it. All of it that I had was great!

gaylebd Posted August 22, 2009 #8 Share Posted August 22, 2009 So I guess that means no Uni. I love Uni with quail egg .... no they do not have that. It is all cooked sushi .... I call it beginners sushi - it's pretty decent
kc5grw Posted August 22, 2009 #9 Share Posted August 22, 2009 Only cooked sushi? Now that is disappointing.
fig414 Posted August 22, 2009 #10 Share Posted August 22, 2009 It's an acquired taste, but the sushi we had on our last 2 cruises was quite good. Every day new choices and also as much as you want. A great addition to Carnival in my opinion.
leadout_kv Posted August 22, 2009 #11 Share Posted August 22, 2009 My DW and I not only liked the sushi but also trying it just before entering the dining room for dinner. Kinda like a before-dinner drink/snack while relaxing in a comfy recliner.
gaylebd Posted August 22, 2009 #12 Share Posted August 22, 2009 You can also get a bottle of Saki for $10. (price from a year ago) It was a great late afternoon snack - I had late dining.

sam1148 Posted August 22, 2009 #14 Share Posted August 22, 2009 The fish and chips bar up stairs on the lido deck has a closest thing you'll find to 'raw sushi' ..a cured tuna served on watermelon. And a marinaded salad of mixed fish chevichi. Of course Disney has a fresh sushi plate..but as always they tend to do character placement. Yeah, I know I've posted it before.. cheapseatsjr Posted August 22, 2009 #17 Share Posted August 22, 2009 Just off the Pride today. The sushi bar was hard to find open. It is usually open for a couple of hours in the afternoon but I did see it was available 5-8pm on day. We had mixed opinions in our group. Definitely basic stuff. One person thought it wasn't very good. (later in the cruise) They also serve a sushi plate as an appetizer in David's.(3rd night) The review of that was quite good. Same person makes it and that may be why the deck2 bar is quite often closed during dinner.
travelswithfriends Posted August 22, 2009 #18 Share Posted August 22, 2009 Was on the Pride end of May 1st week of June. We had the sushi at least 3 times, maybe 4, but the hours are limited as stated in an earlier post. We had early seating for dinner so we finally decided to make a plate and placed it in our fridge for a late snack. That worked out pretty well actually. Wolfie48 Posted August 22, 2009 #20 Share Posted August 22, 2009 we will be cruising in 8 days on the pride, we went on the miracle in october and i noticed they had sushi but we didnt try it. my wife has never had sushi so i was wondering if the sushi was ok for a first timer? It's not traditional sushi...it's americanized sushi. There are no un-cooked items in the sushi served on the Pride. But it is good and tasty, my wife who doesn't eat sushi had some with me and she thought it was ok.

The_Geek Posted August 25, 2009 #23 Share Posted August 25, 2009 I hate sushi, but my wife loves it. She eats sushi at least once a week. She did not enjoy the sushi on our cruises, thought the quality was not what she is used to at all.
Rosefloater Posted August 26, 2009 #24 Share Posted August 26, 2009 I don't like sushi, but I get the pickled carrots that are served on the side (no need to stand in line for these).

TIA :D Unless they moved it during the last yard period, the Sushi cart on Sensation is found outside the Casino near the Atrium.
