HELP! I have lost my Uncle and Aunt!

Would you want to post more information after being flamed about this being a hoax. I know i wouldn't to prevent being flamed again for looking like im a fake to CC for answers.

If it is a hoax who cares. But if its real did people think maybe they flew to where the aunt and uncle are and aren't near a computer. You people should be ashamed of yourselves to even suggest its a hoax.

I have read and re read your answer to my post, and the more times that I read what you have written........I'm beginning to understand where you are coming from.

There is certainly no flaming on my part......and no flaming on your part.

However, I will only admit my error when it is truly proven a tragedy, only because of the way this is being handled. No harm, no foul to you.

Rick

We live at Crescent Beach in St. Augustine, Florida -- shhh... don't tell anyone but really nothing ever happens here... we have no crime... Once someone tried to rob the mini-market at lunch time.... Before they left the parking lot the bridges were open -- a few sherrif cars were parked at the foot of the 312 bridge (it is a new high rise that doesn't open) and the sherrif helo followed the robber's car to his home (no garage to hide in)... Thus the rule... don't try a heist on a limited access Island. We do have a haunted light house -- which is kind of fun. So... I'm nominating St. Augustine as the least crime city in this contest.

I'm still concerned about the Aunt and Uncle... will keep them in my thoughts and prayers and will just be patient hoping that our friend posts good news.

I kinda like this thread...

Oh... in about an hour I'm steping outside onto our dock to watch the Space Shuttle in a spectacular night launch (we have a great vantage point for viewing)... Another perk living here in St. Augustine!

All I can say is this:

If any of my relatives go missing the only thing I'll need is an alibi. :)

You definitely get my Blue Ribbon Award for that one. I know exactly where you are coming from. :D

My Blue Ribbon Award goes to omeinv for the Best One of the Night. :D

I bet that one hits home to a lot of us. But how many will admit it? :D

Here's my guess-

no hoax- but all is fine now and updating cc just hasn't occurred to OP.

It will occur to OP when the rest of the family disembark at the end of the cruise later this week and he/she connects with the family and hears about the cruise.

I don't really understand why one would start a thread asking for help and then not coming back to read about what useful tips were offered.

If you're not a regular poster, but yet you think about this site to post a thread asking for help, wouldn't you then completely forget about this site a little later?

Don't you have people-eating alligators in Miami? I have seen it on CSI Miami, so there must be dozens of those alligators running down the streets, right?

I can't predict if this is real or not, but I just can't understand how someone could write a post like this, in an extremely difficult and confusing time, and never update it, especially after the intense situation was/is over. That's just hard for me to understand and get my head around, which makes me question the validity of the OP. I don't like/want to think that way, but this is too odd to just accept without some skepticism.

Hopefully everyone is okay, they chose not to update because of whatever reason, and life goes on. :)

Well, technically he's a senior citizen, but he's quite savvy and with it:) I just think everyone should have a cell phone, just in case. My dad always tells me not to worry if something happens to him while he's in the car because he has AAA. But how is he going to call AAA if he doesn't have a phone?!

My 24-year-old son gets to use my cell phone when I'm not using it; he doesn't have his own. He forgot to ask for it one day when he was making the 2-hour drive down to visit his girlfriend, and on the way back, his tire blew out. So there he was, sitting on the side of the road....

Finally, a passing motorist called the state police, and a trooper pulled up behind him.

Joe explained about his blown-out tire and that he needed help changing it.

"Do you have AAA?" asked the trooper.

"Yes, I do" Joe replied.

"Well then, why haven't you called them?"

"Because I must be the only person my age in Connecticut who doesn't have a cell phone!"

The trooper laughed and made the call, AAA came and changed the tire.... and Joe is a little better at remembering to ask to borrow my cell phone before he drives to Rhode Island!

Great post when your bored at work.....speaking of looking for someone, my DH was not in the room one time when I went back and he didn't leave me a note to say where he was going...I got myself into a panic thinking the worst, then I got a brain storm - I checked the Sea Pass charges on the TV and found out he had just charged a drink in the casino. The look on his face when he saw that I tracked him down. Got to get a leash sometimes. :)

I am going to remember that tip next cruise! Not just for finding my DH but my two teen DD's we are taking ! Although they are more likely to use it to come save me,,as my son says "Mom could get lost in the shower".True my sense of direction is nonexistent.

Made a right piggy of itself

Holy you-know-what! Do we have a fainting smilie??

Imho, Miami is back as #1 of most dangerous city ;)

I have my personal "lost" story, I was the one who was "lost".

We used to take care of our neighbour's dog every day from around noon until around 7pm.

One day, my mom was making dinner and needed something from the store, so I took the dog and walked to the store. When we came back, we met the "parents" of the dog outside and they asked if I wanted to come in. I didn't see anything wrong in that, I often went to their place. Of course, I didn't think of warning my parents about it :D

They got quite worried. The store is like a 5 minute walk, so after half an hour, they wer seriously worried! They went to the store where they got confirmed that the "girl with dog" had been there, but no sign from me.

By the time they were about to go to the police to register me as a missing person, I came back from the neighbours, lol! :p
