Fires in Greece

Major forest fires ( more than 100 in the past 24 hours) have broken out around Athens and on some of the islands. Lets hope they can get this under control quickly to save residents and residences. Some major archeological sites are also threatened. More info at

Hope they are able to get it under control--we cancelled a cruise on Galaxy that would have been some months after the fires last time--Thought it would not be a fun time to cruise when people might still be recovering...

 

Back then there were allegs of arson but seems they may also have seasonal issues like California..

 

now we are booked & ready to go in late Sept..will keep monitoring it...

This is such disturbing news. I have not seen pictures until now. That is alot of smoke and fire. Hope Greece is able to get extra help to control the fires.
