Norwegian EPIC Transatlantic - Summer 2010 - One Sailing Only

NCL recently announced that it will be conducting a ONE TIME ONLY transatlantic cruise to bring its brand new ship - the EPIC - from Europe, it's "birthplace" to it's "home" in the U.S.

They don't have exact dates, an itinerary or even pricing available yet. However, they are taking "reservations" which is more of being put on a list of those who will be contacted and giiven an opportunity to make a true booking once the details are announced. However, it will be sometime in the summer of 2010.

I called this morning to be put on this list and put my parnter and I on the list.

I think it would be FABULOUS to get together a GLBT group for this cruise. There is absolutely no obligatin or $ involved to be put on the list. So, if this interests you at all, I recommend calling NCL ASAP!

This sounds like an amazing experience!

Would love to hear from anyone else who is on the list or thinking about it!

Cheers!

John, right now all Norwegian is saying is sometime in June/July from "somewhere" in Europe to "somewhere" in the US. One might assume the somewhere here will be Miami, since that is where she will be based. But sometimes they bring a new ship to places like Boston and/or NewYork and run a series of quickie freebies for travel agents. I think we will wait for something more definite and take our chances, even though we have certain misgivings about maiden voyages:)

Hey John,

Bryan and I are waitlisted for the TA on the Epic. We were going to do the Baltic Capitals in May, but if the info on the TA is anything like what we have heard, we will switch in an instant. Funny thing is...it will be our first cruise...EVER....and it looks like it will be all sea days.

Anyways...we are deffinitely interested in meeting new friends. Hell, we live so close, we might even be on the same flight as yall.

Feel free to drop a line

Dennis

We're waitlisted (I started a Roll Call for this ship quite a while ago).

What NCL are saying is that the ship will go from Southhampton UK, to New York.

There are two different leaked itineraries so far:

- June 21 10 days, Southhampton, Le Havre, Iceland, New York

- June 24 8 days southhampton-new york (no stops). This one would arrive July 2nd, allowing for a 2 day CTN with fireworks on the 4th...

The official inaugural sailing is on July 17th out of Miami. Until then, anything is possible.

The latest is a 7 day cruise from Southampton on the 24th of June with arrival on July 1st in New York. Outside cabins nearly all sold out but all other categories remain. Prices start at $799. Sounds like a great cruise.:)

Hi sjbdtz,

I have never cruised with NCL what are they like I used to work for Royal caribbean monarch of the sea's about 14 years ago as a photographer, and last year was on a princess cruises to OZ, my partner loves New York so this was the perfect cruise to do from Southampton. seems like ages away I hope the weather will be good doing the crossing.

Hi Scott,

We LOVE ncl... their casinos program is one of the best, and their suites offer both butler and concierge service.

We like the relaxed atmosphere, and meeting new people in a de-structured environment. We also like being able to go and get a table for 2 whenever we're hungry....or a table for 8, if we've made new friends.

It all depends what you relish in a cruise, I suppose...but NCL is a great line and the EPIC will be....well, EPIC! ;)

Hi Guys!

I'm the one who started this thread....and then I sort of dropped out of sight for a while.

However, I am BACK and my partner and I are booked on this cruise - I'm SO excited.

We will be arriving in London the weekend prior to the cruise as it is absolutely one of our favorite cities in the world and there's always MORE to do and discover there!

Just as a side note, the last time we did a cruise out of Southampton, a group of us hired a car and driver to take us from London to the port. If I recall correctly, the car was able to hold 6 of us plus luggage. So, if anyone is interested in exploring this option, let me know! It saved us quite a bit of money, I do know that!

My email is jmhinsd@hotmail so feel free to post on here or email me direct!

Cheers!

John

We're also on Epic Transatlantic. Where and when will be the big gay gathering so ? ;-) Hello Daniel & Stephen :-)

Hi Jean-Phillipe & Chow-Chi,

We made our final payment and are really looking forward to this trip. Our plan, as long as the volcano doesn't interfere, is to spend a couple of days in Budapest, then a couple of days in Vienna, and then to see Stonehenge the morning we leave on the EPIC.

We're going to spend a couple of days visiting friends in New York, and then taking the train back to Toronto.

It's less than 60 days left now, so it is starting to feel real!

I hope you are enjoying your amazing cruise on the Diamond Princess...I'll be anxious to hear how you enjoyed it.

Stephen & Daniel

See y'all on board!
