  1. I don't think Bermuda would allow that plus the lifeguards on the ship would not be properly trained for Bermuda conditions like Man o Wars. What NCL could do is subsidize Bermuda extending their lifeguard season at Horseshoe. Or they could just warn passengers that there are no lifeguards at Horseshoe until May 1. All the south shore beaches can have rip tides so there could be a general warning lifeguards or not. Most of the time I have not felt strong currents at Horseshoe but conditions change. The worst current I encountered was once at Elbow Beach and there won't be lifeguards there at any time.
  2. You need to reduce your file size below 1MB. There are various ways to do that depending on file format and what devices you use.
  3. The parade is at 7:30 and there are ferries at 8:30, 9:00 and 10:30 so no need to miss the parade. I have taken the 9 and 10:30 ferries with no issues. The last time I took the 9 and it was not overcrowded. When I took the 10:30 ferry they had an extra ferry so the ferry was not crowded. Don''t know if they still do that. Also the most interesting thing in the parade is the dancers. So you only need to watch them for 10 to 15 minutes and then can go get a drink, food or catch a return ferry. If you have been before like you have skipping Harbour Nights is logical.
  4. Probably their customer base who have iOS 17 is similar to that of the general population. About 75%. The actual developers don’t have to know anyone who runs an earlier version or every model iPhone. There are simulators. Those run on a Mac. Also there is an Apple test app TestFlight. I am beta testing for an app. The developers send me an email. I open the app and then update from TestFlight. They can see from that app any issues when I use the app. They can see what version of iOS I am running their app on. I can also provide feedback. The developers can also contract with a third party company to test their app.
  5. Just an FYI since this is a revived thread is that Harbour Nights this year 2024) are from May 15 to August 28. Wednesday evening in Hamilton starting at 7 pm.
  6. You can take the #6 from St. George. The problem is that it only runs once an hour. It has a reputation of being unpredictable.
  7. A large busness with hundreds of thousands of customers can afford to test. And it is not retro. iOS 16 is still supported. iOS 16 was incremental. It should take minimal effort. IOS 17 has been out less than a year so requiring it is short sited . There are thousands of apps that still get updates and run as far back as iOS 13.
  8. No, 66% of active iPhones run iOS 17, 23% run iOS 16 and the rest earlier versions as of February 24. 23% is still a large number. I do agree that that there was no reason to drop support for 16. It was running on 16. There is nothing they are doing that requires 17.
  9. It does not qualify. Bermuda is not a distant foreign port under the PVSA.
  10. I never had any problem getting the coffees on embarkation day and I have been Elite Plus for a lot of sailings. If my order is not at Cafe Bacio. I do remind them in a confident manner there is no charge. Never had any backlash. I presume that if they had any uncertainty they asked their supervisor.
  11. They don’t have their eggs in one basket. They have plenty of ships other than Oasis class or Icon. That is why they can take their time with the new class of medium size ships.
  12. Someday I might price it but ironically for the subject of this thread I am currently into small ships. Not smaller though, small ships which Royal won’t ever have. So until we can get our old gang back together, or another group which may never happen, that cruise on super mega sized ships I won’t be pricing Icon although I would like too. Have you done Icon yet?
  13. I have never heard of a 2 person booking of a standard stateroom costing more than a 3/4 person in the same cat. booking. Whenever I have gotten quotes it is based on double occupancy and any additional would have an add on. That is the way pricing was for the groups I went with. The 3rd or 4th was cheaper per person but the total cabin price was higher. I have never gotten any quotes for Icon though. No matter the total number of cabins a ship has a maximum capacity based on lifeboats so even if there are 4 beds they can’t sell them if it puts the ship over that maximum capacity.
  14. Aren’t cabins on Royal Caribbean that accommodate 3 or 4 aThe same size as cabins that accommodate two. I have been in standard cabins with sofa beds and pullmans by myself.
