  1. @Momto3girlsintheCarolinasAlthough entitled, we didn't go to the spa. And once you're out of the YC area...nobody knows what kind of cabin you're in, or cares. As far as non-Americans, there was a large group of Asians (from Asia). You can ask @JamieLogicalfor her reviews. She's said with "regular folks" a few times...and is very happy!
  2. Don't worry, you won't be an outcast. We were in the YC last month (2nd time in YC), and truth be told, we spent most of our time "with the masses". YC "fine dining" just isn't for us, we don't drink and it was too windy for the private YC pool deck...our main source of food was buffet pizza. Also, in the theatre we prefer first row, so we didn't even sit in our "reserved YC seating" area. If I sail on MSC again...unless I get a super great deal...it's gonna be in a "regular folks" cabin.
  3. Thanks....I just did that on a random cruise that they've offered me, and was able to see the available cabins. Now...I just have to patiently wait for a cruise I could actually take!
  4. Thanks... As far as the bunk bed issue....DH is almost 90 and uses a cane because he has balance issues; I'm a very short and non-athletic 75. That, and a cabin with a high bathtub...maybe Carnival will have mercy!
  5. @Elaine5715Thanks...interesting. I don't want to end up paying "full fare"! When I get a chance I'll call their casino dept and get the "possibly" incorrect information.
  6. The cruises they're offering me are for "within" 2 days! So, the question is, if I book today for a cruise that leaves tomorrow, and they assign me something awful....I guess I'll just be out my $50/pp.
  7. LOL...I know. I've noticed that Carnival is giving me these "free cruises"....but if I book, and I get something like a bunk bed cabin, I'd just skip it, as long as my loss is only $50/pp. So, that's my question!
  8. If one if offered "a free cruise"....you pay taxes/port fees and a $50/pp deposit. If you take the offer...and then decide not to go (awful weather, awful cabin) I assume you get reimbursed for taxes/port fees....and just lose the $50/pp. Is this correct?
  9. I am very confused. MSC promptly refunded 100% of your fare, but you also said something about 60%. Is your issue the FCC?
  10. And I thought "the secret second bathroom" was my secret! As far as "the Italian aspect"....on my first MSC cruise I said "it was like traveling to Italy without having to fly". On my April 2024 YC...it was more like being at the Jersey Shore.
  11. People have reported that they switched their YC reservation to a non-YC cabin for a differet saiing.....and then canceled that sailing and got a refund.
  12. I believe that there was a sangria special on the Meraviglia 2 weeks ago in the buffet. It wasn't included with the beverage package.
  13. Yes. When MSC first came to the USA...we sailed on the Divina (general pop) and the vast majority of passengers were European or South American. They had style...all day long. Not fancy...just knew how to dress and how to take care of their bodies.
  14. I like that saying "below the salt" (never heard it before). Based on our "non-use" of many YC perks....our next MSC cruise may be "below the salt" too. Enjoy your cruise.......
  15. Just want to comment on this: We were on this ship Jan 2024. DH uses a cane, so in the buffet I become his butler (he sits; I get the food). More than once, while I was gone, a buffet staff member brought him stuff...coffee, soup etc.
