Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Regarding wine, I've not personally done this but it may make sense for some people (or me at some point in the future) - bring an extra insulated metal water bottle. Get a glass of wine at a bar, pour it into the bottle. Get another of the same glass of wine, pour it into the water bottle (repeat as needed). Store in your stateroom fridge/mini bar. Now you have wine for consumption in the stateroom or on the verandah. This works with HIA assuming you're not also drinking 15 drinks a day elsewhere 😉 Sue/WDW1972
  2. Add me to the list of people appreciating your daily blogs - I've followed them for years and enjoy each entry, along with the pictures (including the pizza, lol). Safe travels back home and I look forward to your next adventure! Sue/WDW1972
  3. Looking forward to the final sailaway of the season. Zuiderdam also happens to be my next ship, in November (11 night southern caribbean). Sure would be nice to be on today's sailing! Sue/WDW1972
  4. Ditto - except my 2% cash back card is a MasterCard 😉 Sue/WDW1972
  5. Pretty sure Microsoft Studio no longer exists - that contract ended a couple years or so ago. On many ships that space has been turned into a library. Since most people travel with a laptop, tablet or other device (or all 3) there's really no need for a computer lab any longer. I've not seen computers out for passenger use in several years on my cruises, but admittedly have had no reason to look since I have my laptop in my stateroom. Sue/WDW1972
  6. For me (iphone) I logged out and when I logged back in the Lido lunch menu suddenly was visible. Unfortunately no other menus and when going back to check Lido lunch again it's a white screen. Very frustrating My next cruise is Zuiderdam, and when I noticed the current temp was supposedly 48 degrees F despite being somewhere between San Juan and Ft Lauderdale, I knew something had gotten "stuck" many countries ago! Now it seems to have the right temp and is showing the current time, but no menus. Sue/WDW1972
  7. The Alaska excursion I wanted for May 2025 was already sold out when I tried to book a month or more ago. Why on earth would anyone wait to book? Prices are not going to drop, and I've seen them increase on past cruises. People who booked early were locked in that lower price. As they say "you snooze, you lose". Sue/WDW1972
  8. Not to worry Ruth - the information presented was not really accurate. The mini stroopwaffles will be on Dutch night. There's been nothing to indicate any change to the chocolates on dressy nights. Sue/WDW1972
  9. I think your options are either upgrade to a newer phone or do without the app. If you have a tablet that might be compatible (depending how old the tablet is). Once onboard you can see your account, menus, etc via the tv in your stateroom, and you'll receive a paper copy of the daily activities. Having the app on your phone isn't "necessary" but in my opinion improves the cruise experience in terms of being able to check many things right from your phone. Sue/WDW1972
  10. I'm experiencing the same thing, but my next cruise is Zuiderdam. Seems to be a problem throughout the fleet vs just NS. Sue/WDW1972
  11. Somebody (most likely in this thread somewhere) said when they tried to apply for a 2025 the StockPerks app told them to try in November. That's when I plan to submit for my 2025 cruises - it makes sense, now that they're transitioning to a calendar year vs the July-July year. Sue/WDW1972
  12. HAL's language/narrative is notoriously bad/confusing. I swear they have some Dutch elementary school child writing all their stuff, then sending it through some translator app to get it into English - it often doesn't make any sense at all, and results in numerous clarifications that also aren't clear 😉 Sue/WDW1972
  13. Wrong - solo passengers using the standby program have no single supplement, and they can be placed in any stateroom on the ship. Ships that don't have the single/solo staterooms found on the 3 pinnacle class ships also participate in the standby program and can be booked by solo travelers for $49/night plus port fees/taxes. Sue/WDW1972
  14. I'd love to see them in a smaller size - wouldn't it be nice to be able to pre-order the right size prior to boarding? The ones in the stateroom can pretty much wrap around me almost twice - it's hard to imagine it being too small on many people, but from the responses here that seems to be the case. That said, I only wear it inside my stateroom so it really doesn't matter how silly it looks. As a person on the smaller end of the spectrum, it can be difficult finding things that fit, and any "one size fits all" will never look like it was intended to look when I wear it! Sue/WDW1972
  15. That's my understanding too. In any event, we've not heard of anyone's cards being taken and used by other passengers, so it's not something that even registers in my mind as possible things to be concerned with. It's been working for 2-3 years now. Sue/WDW1972
