azgkrudi Posted December 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2012 ...is now on the Pearl! We just got off today and ours was the first sailing to introduce the package on this ship. As others have said, it's $49 per person, per day, plus 15% autogratuity, and everyone in the cabin must purchase it. And it must be for the full duration of the cruise. We were BEYOND happy with this. I know it saved us at least $400. I have my receipts and will add them up when I get a chance. :)
Robert Peel Posted December 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2012 Can you let me know what the package included for that price, we are a group of 14 going on the 2nd of February? Thanks.
kpms Posted December 9, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2012 I wonder if they will be offering this on the Breakaway when it goes into service in April.
jdvmd Posted December 9, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2012 Am curious as to what ships this is being tested on right now. Is Epic one of them?
sstrong Posted December 9, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 9, 2012 Has anyone seen this offered on the Star yet? We're sailing on the Star in January and I"m curious if it will be available.
satchiesmom Posted December 10, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 10, 2012 I always purchase the premium beverage package on Celebrity where it is not required that all occupants of a stateroom purchase the package, but won't be doing the same with the ultimate package on NCL because DH rarely drinks. kaftigr Posted December 10, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Hopefully NCL will do this fleet wide. I'm going on my first celebrity cruise next month and purchased the premium beverage package. My next NCL cruise will be on the Epic and would like it then.
Partyatsea Posted December 10, 2012 #8 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Just off EPIC yesterday (12-08-2012) and the package was being offered poolside on embarkation day. We didn't buy it but definitely will on the next cruise we are on if it is offered.

southt00 Posted December 10, 2012 #10 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Hi. Can you let me know what is included in the package as specific as possible. Does it include pop and juice? Also, my little only drinks water or milk. Does she have to get the soda package? She is only six and we don't want her having pop, even while on vacation. Thx in advance T
debt Posted December 10, 2012 #11 Share Posted December 10, 2012 If anyone from NCL is reading this, I have a suggestion for another drink package. On Costa, they offer a package of soda, beer and wine. I found this to be one of the best things about the entire cruise. :p
azgkrudi Posted December 10, 2012 Author #12 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Unfortunately, neither soda nor bottled water are included in this package. Included are wines under $10 by the glass; domestic beers; and most liquors (there seemed to be some confusion among which ones, so lists were distributed to the bartenders with all included liquors highlighted in blue). I pretty much drank cocktails containing Absolut, Ketel One, Captain Morgan and Bombay Sapphire and ALL of these are included. My husband drank Mudslides, so I know that Bailey's and Kahlua are included as well. Oh! And mimosas are included too. We didn't find that out until day five and were bummed that we didn't ask earlier. So it's clear as mud, right? ;) Since we were the "guinea pigs" of the package on the Pearl, it wasn't as clear to everyone as it will be on coming sailings, that's my guess. They'll have it down to a science soon.
che5904 Posted December 10, 2012 #13 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Am I the only one that thinks almost $800 for 2 people is one heck of a pile of booze for one week that includes port stops a few times during the week, where people are most likely going to be off the ship for the better part of the day? Maybe my math is off but that = 88 mixed drinks for the week (@ approx $9/drink, autograt incl). 88 x 1.5 oz = 132 oz divided by 26er = 5 bottles. Wouldn't it be cheaper to get a bar set up? Calcags Posted December 10, 2012 #14 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Was the "drink of the day" included in the package? This would really make it worth it for me, as I can't really see myself drinking vodka sodas or wine by the pool. We leave Friday on the Sky for a 3 nighter and I could see us doing some damage with this package ;)
green eyed lady Posted December 10, 2012 #15 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Doesn't make sense for them not to include soda in the pkg. Couldn't you just order a jack & coke...hold the jack?
time2cruise1 Posted December 10, 2012 #16 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Since I cruise solo almost $400 would be a bargin. The problem most of my bar bill is bottles of good wines with freinds at dinner. House wines under $10 a glass are not an option. I could never drink $400 of beer and mixed drinks

But, $112 with gratuity (2 people) per day comes to $784 for the week. I don't think I've spent $700 for "drinks" in 20 years. lol
Diqua74 Posted December 10, 2012 #18 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Sodas are included in the package. Also, I ordered a drink that wasn't in the package. The bartender made it for me anyway and just charged it as something else. I guess it pays to tip on top of the automatic 15%.
