CAS perks

Just wondering what are some perks that some of you received as a CAS guest. The last time we sailed with NCL we were on the Jewel in a 2 bedroom family suite. My husband spent a lot of time in the casino. We did receive gifts periodically in our room (chocolate covered strawberries, wine) but I can't remember if that was from the casino or just because we were in a suite). This is the first time cruising that we actually booked through the casino

What he gets depends on what his tier is.

It really depends on your tier level.

All casino guests (CAS booked or Caesars certificates) can you the casino checkin line in the embarkation port to avoid the lines.

Gold/Black players will get $150/$300 in spa credit. Gold/Black players will get $100/$200 in dining credit (when specialty restaurants are a la carte). Black players get 2 free soda packages.

Drink cards for the first two persons in the stateroom (level of alcohol depends on tier level).

As a minimum, you can cash in your on-board points at the end of the cruise. Depending your your level of play and your relationship with the hosts, they will comp more than your basic points level (up to all expenses except gratuities).

The casino will send treats up to your room 3-4 times during a cruise (on the Epic last month, the casino host let us pick the treats we wanted).

If you are cruising during your birthday month, the casino will give you a bottle of wine.

So, if I have never cruised with NCL before, and my first one is in January of 2016.. anything I do in the Casino will be wiped out in April?

Your play during that cruise (and any other sailing prior to 3/31/2016) will determine your tier level (for perks) until 3/31/17. However, your POINTS will be zero'd out on 4/1/16 (so you will stop climbing tier levels for the 2016-2017 season.) Your play from 4/1/16 through 3/31/17 will determine your tier level for the 2017-2018 season.

I think. ;) So, in essence, the "perks" program rewards those players who are really high rollers (lots of play on few cruises) or medium rollers that are frequent cruisers. The clean slate every year ensures NCL is rewarding consistent/recent play. Which seems fair to me.

Yes, but if you play a lot, you may still qualify for a comped cruise based on your January play, so you don't totally lose out.

I find the CAS reservations somewhat inconsistent. They always claim the the room they offer is based on level of play, but what they offer (even considering that it is price/market driven) is vastly different.

I agree with this and I find the whole situation as to how comps are offered to be very puzzling.

Example: We cruised on the Breakaway in May. Based on our play we were offered a balcony comp on the Breakaway again in September which we happily took.

After we returned we started to look at next cruises and this time CAS would only offer us an inside comp. When I asked why I was told it was because our play went down on the prior cruise. This puzzled me as I didn't think that was the case (The amount we lost went down..but that was only because of a couple of good hits on the slots. Either way we still put lots of time and money through the slots. And it certainly shows that other than points earned there is nothing cumulative about benefits earned as far as cabin comps go)

We are not what I would call high rollers by any stretch...however a friend of ours who went with us is. On our last cruise I have no idea as to how much she actually put through the slots but do know her losses were about $7k. When she called CAS the most they would offer her as a comp was a mini suite. In my mind that certainly isn't a very good comp offer based on her level of play either.

So who knows how it is that they actually tabulate and make offers based on play levels. It doesn't seem to be consistent though.
