motleyfan Posted November 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Warning this show is NOT for kids, yes even the freestyle dailies say so. The show was amazing, easily the best show I've ever seen cruise or not. It had great humor and extremely talented singers, not to mention an incredibly beautiful girl. One the other away ships one of their shows also stated it was not for young children. HOWEVER, you still had parents bringing in their kids. Some had no complaints and others complained they had to leave - even though it was referenced NOT to bring young children due to sexual content/actions/etc. Harriet

My girlfriend and everyone i talked to ( all of which loved the show ) agreed it's definitely not for anyone under
keeponcruising Posted November 14, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Do you think all this would go over a 4 year old's head? We are booked already.
punkincc Posted November 14, 2015 #9 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Do you think all this would go over a 4 year old's head? We are booked already. Probably nothing worse than they see on network tv if allowed to watch, but they may pick up on the F bombs. Honestly, they would probably be much happier in the kids club for a couple hours. It's their vacation, too!;)

He will be 100%+++ happier eating something from the buffet, going to Splash Academy kids club at 7pm, then we enjoy the night by ourselves at the later show. It's not about over his or her head, it's not appropriate they be there. Ncl doesn't post that for their health lol. Just put him in the kids club during the show. TheDougOut Posted November 14, 2015 #13 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Hmmm... already booked with 13 boy and 15 girl. I'm not sure I saw any disclaimer when booking online, unlike Rock of Ages on the BA.
Lily815 Posted November 14, 2015 #14 Share Posted November 14, 2015 The Dailies say 16+. I would not, under any circumstances, take a 4-year old there. I would be extremely surprised if they even allowed you in.
TheDougOut Posted November 14, 2015 #15 Share Posted November 14, 2015 The Dailies say 16+. I suppose adding that disclaimer to the show description for online reservations is part of "working out the kinks" of a new ship. They certainly make no indication as to age-appropriateness... We’re serving more than Breakfast at The Supper Club. Spend an evening with a Brain an Athlete, a Princess, a Criminal and a Basketcase at For The Record: The Brat Pack. This unique 360-degree post-modern cabaret brings the movies to life through their original soundtracks. Immerse yourself in the glorious 1980’s at this feast for the senses. "Twist and Shout" with Ferris, "Try A Little Tenderness" with Ducky and let Jake Ryan light your "Sixteen Candles." No leg warmers required. TheDougOut Posted November 14, 2015 #18 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Have you seen The Breakfast Club? Common sense works too lol. Yeah - but it's been a few years (or decades). From what I recall, I don't think I'd think twice if I saw a 13 year old watching it, so maybe my memory is failing me. Where did common sense fail me? I know NCL mentions age appropriateness for other show descriptions, and this one had no mention of it.

The 4-year old is definitely out of the question though!!

That's good to hear about 13... thanks. I'll keep my reservations and keep an eye on what others are saying. We had many "kids" with us at Rock of Ages on the BA - and they all had fun. Judge away. :)

I find it funny when parents see something that says 16 and over only and say I think its okay for my kid who is under sixteen. That would be like finding a restaurant with a sign that says no shirt no shoes no service and you say I think I should be allowed to come in here without a shirt on lol. Tbh the cast is great though, I would love to see them redo certain scenes from Fast Times at Ridgemont High, yes that includes the tremendous swimming pool scene. I find it funny when parents see something that says 16 and over only and say I think its okay for my kid who is under sixteen. To your point, if there is indeed indication that it's "16 and over only", I will in fact cancel the reservation for the two kids in our party. If, similar to Rock of Ages, it states "this show may not be suitable for children", I will allow my discretion to take over. Regardless, I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. So you're suggesting that if "For The Record" was simply a topless revue that we could bring the kids. But since it's an explicit live sex show we should probably leave them behind?
