Basel to Amsterdam

I will start by saying that it depends on the line and itinerary. Without that nothing is meaningful.

Beyond that, just because that was the timetable for a particular ship doesn't mean that even that ship will have the same timetable again. It depends on how many locks are involved, and the time of year, and the water conditions, and the number of other ships on the river, etc. etc.

Mskaufman, Even if you were able to get a detailed timeline from someone's cruise, that doesn't mean it would be the same for yours since water levels, timing of locks, etc., could change. I don't know if this would be at all helpful, but I'm including a link to the Viking Rhine Getaway review I did in August 2014. The water levels were high, so we weren't able to start in Basel but had to be bussed to Breisach instead. I did a pre-cruise extension in Lucerne, so information about the cruise itself doesn't begin until page 3, about post #43.
