Hi. This is our first cruise and I am looking for reputable shore excursions for Halifax and Peggy's cove, st John, New Brunswick and Acadia park in bar harbor. Can anyone suggest a company or local tour agencies?

When I was in Bar Harbor, we toured Acadia National Park with Oli's Trolley. We weren't interested in hiking and it gave us a good overview of the Park. The tour lasted about 2 hours, had narration, and made 3 or 4 different stops where we enjoyed the views and took pictures. Their departure point was just a short walk from where our ship tender let us off.

Thank you. Did you pre-register for this tour and if so, how would I get info on them?

Oli's has a website. I actually purchased our tickets from their website as we sat on the ship before taking the tender over to town. You can purchase them ahead of time, but I don't know what the cancellation policy is if you wouldn't be able to tender in. There have been times it is too foggy to make the transfer from the ship to the dock.

Our first time in Bar Harbor coming up this fall but did some research and found this company that does tours of Acadia National Park: http://www.acadiatours.com/

They will give you a full refund if you cancel with 24 hour advance notice or if your ship doesn't make it into port.

They and Oli's Trolley had good reviews on Trip Advisor.

We used Acadia Park Tours also when we were in Bar Harbor. Met them right at the top of the hill after getting off the ship. Good tour, well worth the money. When we were in St. John, NB, we used a private company and went with them out to the Sea Caves to witness the huge change in the tide levels. Excellent tour but I can't remember the company name. They picked us up at the pier and we did the reversing falls, a city tour, and the trip out to the caves. Check "Tour Companies" in St. John, NB and you should come up with their name. Both of the tours I booked ahead of time to insure a seat with them.

The Tour Company we used in St. John, NB, was Freedom Tours. Excellent company.

Loved Oli's Trolley in Bar Harbor for a tour of Acadia National Park and had great lobster rolls at the Thirsty Whale

In Saint John we used Roy's Tours for a private tour (with a local of Acadian descent) to St. Martin and the sea caves with a great lunch at the Caves Restaurant and a short tour of part of the Fundy Trail.

This past October, we used River Bay Adventures, and had Jim as a guide. It was one of my most favorite days of all my cruises. we arranged to meet up at Tucker park, spent the day kayaking around the Kennebecasis River , then did a driving tour afterwards and hit up the spots that were of interest to us, as well as all the tourist spots and a few local spots. Jim grew up and still resides in this seaside town, and can give you an unmatched locals aspect. Check out their web page, http://riverbayadventures.com/Index.html and their trip advisor reviews at https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attracti...Brunswick.html I would highly recommend Jim as a guide and will be calling him this fall if we go back up to Canada on a fall cruise.
