Aft cabins--soot, vibration

Are there any aft cabins that do not have a soot problem on their balcony?

Is the vibration at the rear of the ship worse on Azamara ships compared to larger ships? 2000-3000 passengers?

We've sailed aft on AZ 3 times. Vibration is greatest on the lowest deck, higher up, less vibration. Soot is inevitable, but your steward will clean up for you. Neither was a deal breaker for us, and we enjoyed our time looking out at the sea as the ship sailed away. Absolutely beautiful at night with the moon shining on the sea. Exceptional experience.

Our experience as well. Stern locations are the best, but can be pricey.

I've stayed aft facing a few times. Soot has varied according to wind direction and which way it blows smoke from the stack. Sometimes nothing, sometimes a lot. Vibration has been very dependent upon speed. You'll notice it more if the ship is going at 14 knots +. Little or no vibration at slower speeds. If you have to travel at 16 knots + on three engines it vibrates quite a bit, as noted by tv24, less noticeable the higher deck you are.
