Taking alcohol on board Arcadia in Sydney

We are joining in Sydney for an Australian sector of the world cruise, are we allowed to take alcohol on board? Have been told yes but would like to confirm it before Sunday if possible.

If P&O .... Yes. Which of course is what you wanted to hear. You can take it on there and and all the ports you visit.

In 2012 we did Arcadia, Sydney to Southampton, took several bottles of wine on in Sydney and also at ports along the way. Also in 2014 did Arcadia in the Med, same no problems with alcohol. Have also been on Aurora/Oriana same. Cunard also the same, byo no problem.

Tip: The two litre wine casks fit well in the cabin fridge.:eek:

My aunt and uncle who used to live in Australia years ago often do part of the world sector to have short catch up with friends over there. they take on boxes of wine (silver pillow's in OZ) they say on the last cruise they did they flew to Sydney had 4 days on land, picked up four 4 litre boxes and nothing was said at embarkation they have only cruised with Cunard and P & O so cannot have been any other line.

We don't have any issues when cruising the Caribbean.

I imagine there would only be a problem if the shore authorities were to forbid it. I don't know if there are any such countries (apart from the obvious predominantly Moslem ones).

They would not be selling it so .. no problem.
