Can we get the top of out page back?

Question for the mods - is it possible to someday get the top of our page back? We've got something like 4" of screen space dedicated to the Sub-Forum 'Q&A with Randall Soy and Carolyn Spencer Brown - Seven Seas Explorer' that has been closed since June 27th. There's good info in there and I don't really want to see it whacked, but would it be possible to merge it as a sticky or something, or at a minimum cut down the text/photo to get some real estate back? It's getting old having to scroll down past this every day to get to the new posts...
