Haven and SDP question

My husband and I are going on the Getaway in a couple weeks with another couple. We are in the Haven while our friends are not. We also have the 4 meal SDP. My questions are:

1. Can we use our SDP to on our friends. Specifically we would like to bring them to dinner with us at the Haven restaurant and to Cagneys with us one night.

2. Can we bring them with us to the Haven pool area. I know we technically cant all go. But if my husband and friend's husband are at the bar could my friend come with to the pool with me in my husbands place? I have heard that you use your room key to get in so maybe she could just borrow his key?

SPD is usually per person, but I have seen waiters make exceptions...

It used to be possible to treat guests to Haven restaurant for $25 upcharge pp - there have been conflicting reports on whether this is still allowed, best to ask the concierge onboard.

The Haven public areas are for Haven guests only - you may invite non-Haven guests to your cabin, but not to the pool! They will be asked to leave! I would spare them and yourself the embarrassment.

"Specialty Dining Packages are non-transferable." - Terms & Conditions

Haven guests cannot bring non-Haven guests to the Haven bar nor the Haven pool. To avoid embarrassment, don't try to "switch/share room key-cards" because your friends will be escorted out of the Haven.

1. SDP are not transferable, but you can invite them into your suite for dining and I'm not sure but you could possibly invite them into the Haven restaurant for a fee.

CAN I BUY DINNER FOR MY FRIENDS WITH A SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGE?

Specialty Dining Packages are for personal consumption. If you wish to pay for someone else’s dinner, you will incur in regular cover charges for their consumption.

2. No, only Haven guests are allowed in the Haven area; they will ask non-Haven guests to leave and I don't think you want to embarrass your friend if they ask her to leave. They can, however, come to your suite.

I just spoke with the concierge the other day as we are in a similar situation

Haven guests can 'invite' guests to the Haven Restaurant up to 2 times during the week at a rate of $35 (not sure if this is pp as I only asked about 1 person)

Haven restaurant is not considered a Specialty restaurant for the dining plan.

I don't know about the pool

It's per person. It used to be $25.

I don't know about the pool

Pool, bar, courtyard, sundeck, hot-tub access in the Haven is not allowed for non-Haven guests.

They can go to haven restaurant with you for a fee but they are definitely not allowed at the courtyard pool area as this is for Haven only. I can see why as I wouldn't want to pay a premium price and have other guests coming in who haven't paid. To be fair if I couldn't get a seat in the haven restaurant due to passengers bringing in their "non-haven" guests I would be pretty upset. Think NCL need to work on this as this question comes up a lot.

Nothing to work on as long as rules are enforced.

OP, I have cruised with non-suite family and friends. You can either meet up outside of meals or dine with them in tge MDR, buffet or specialty dining with you using your dining package and them on their own nickel.

As others have mentioned, you can entertain them in your suite but not at the haven pool or courtyard. I was introduced to the NCL suite life by friends in the haven on the Jewel. They took the time to explain how they could only give us a very short tour of those areas out of respect for their fellow suite pax. Of course I was intrigued and once I got that tour I decided then and there I wanted in. After several cruises in NCL suites only I have been in the position of being the one explaining. Of couse, family and friends had a blast in my suite. It was fun having the butler make a fuss for them with food and drinks I used with my bar set up. There was some additional costs but not much and I gladly tipped the butler extra.

As others have said, you cannot swap places, share pool perks or such. Not everyone is utilizing the pool, bar or restaurant at the same time. It is not about occupancy, but rather being available for those who have paid for the priviledge.
