Grand Cayman- what to do other than Sting Rays

When you get to port there are lots of taxi/jitney drivers offering tours. We took one that stopped at the turtle farm (you can see turtles thru the gift shop window), 7 mile beach, and Hell. I think we spent $15 to $20 per person. Downtown Georgetown is compact and easy to walk around. Library is a lovely art deco building. There also is a small but nice local history museum. Very safe and easy to do on your own.

There are tours...plenty of them! GC is a very easy DIY port...great public transportation...cheap, easy...

Google it, or get a guidebook at your library. There is NO need to pay for "excursions" on GC, unless you want some sort of boat trip....like offshore snorkeling or stingrays..

Beaches have watersport rentals, if you want to do wave runners...or banana boats...whatever...

You know those things are in very different locations, right? The botanical gardens is about 30-45 minutes from the port, in the opposite direction as the turtle farm. A trip there will likely mean you have little time for beach or turtles.

Why is that?

There really isn't much to it. There is the post office building & a gift shop. Behind those buildings is a petrified coral reef. The reef is interesting to look at. But, not anything that I felt was worth a drive just for that. There just isn't much else to see.
