Grand Turk questions

We will be in GT in a couple of weeks and have reserved a cabana in Margaritaville to get my mother out of the heat while still enjoying the pool. I read somewhere that the casino on the ship stays open while in dock in GT. Is this true? If so, we may cancel the cabana because my mother would prefer to stay on the boat.

Also, we are aware of Jack's Shack, but are there other local bars between Margaritaville and Jack's Shack with decent drink prices? Or, are those our only two beach bar options?

I appreciate any feedback and options you may be able to offer!

I don't know the answer for certain but I'm fairly sure that the casino will remain closed while in port. The only time I've heard of a casino opening while in port is when the ship overnights at a port. Yes there are a few other bars in between Margaritaville and Jack's Shack. We didn't care for Jack's Shack. During our last visit we stopped at what used to be the Local Village Bar (can't recall new name) but we had a few drinks and used the free wifi. It wasn't a place that I'd spend the whole day but was good for a short visit!

The casino will be closed while you are in port.
