Ira's Off to Alaska: HAL and Princess

We returned on Friday.

We have been sleeping about 20 hr/day since then.

All that fresh air and sunshine can really tire you out.

It was a terrific month.

As soon as I get organized, I shall start an account of our adventure.

Interesting read. Sorry you ended up in Portland during the awful heat. This was the hottest summer on record.

Hi all,

Sorry that I wasn't able to give you the day-by-day I had hoped to do.

Arrival and boarding:

It's a mostly downhill walk from the Day's Inn to Canada Place, but we decided to splurge on a cab (about $7 US) which brought us into a staging area under the main building.

Our luggage was taken away, and we were directed by a long line of escorts out and up and over and down and in and out and around until - there we were in the reception hall. Took about 30 min. Lines never stopped moving.

Our room was available. Our cabin stewards greeted us. We dropped our things and went exploring.

There should be 3 pics of our cabin, 7136.

One of our goodies was the Bvg Package, so we worked our way through the bars tasting various this's and thats's.

We are old fogies. None of the new and exciting cocktails appealed to us, although (just to be courteous) we drank them.

As mentioned earlier - we found nothing to dislike about the Oosterdam.
