Formal nights

We're off on a weeks cruise to the fjords on Azura. We want to book Sindhu one night for dinner but don't want to eat there on formal nights. Does anybody know when the 2 formal nights tend to be on a weeks cruise please? :)

You should be able to see if you log on to your Cruise Personaliser :)

Where on the Personaliser does it show this ? Ours is a 17 day on Aurora, I have found the number of formal nights elsewhere on the P & O site but although it's clear when sea and port days are I cannot see anything that specifies when the formal nights are.

If you book up the restaurant on port days then you will find that they are not formal nights. If you book the restaurant on sea days they might be formal or not because not all sea days are formal nights but formal nights are scheduled on sea days and not port days 99.9% of the time.

Thanks John I was aware that almost inevitably that formal nights are sea days. My question was principally that on this cruise we have 9 sea days and consecutive days at sea on more than one occasion. It would be helpful to know in advance which nights are formal whilst we are at sea. Cannot understand why this information doesn't seem to be freely available - surely formal nights follow a standard programme related to the itinerary ?

I'm trying to remember if it's printed in your cruise paperwork somewhere when you get on board. It was like an overview of the cruise. I'm sure I remember reading it somewhere. I know the dress code is always printed daily on the front of the Horizon paper. X

You do not know when your formal nights are officially until you get onboard and it is not stated in your cruise personaliser. You can guesstimate from past cruises but the days can vary once onboard especially if bad sea conditions but generally are always on sea days.
