  1. Did you climb to the top at any of the windmills? And I second your comment about the natives on bicycles. They definitely do not yield for any pedestrians. And basically none of them wear helmets.
  2. Not doubting you, but I am surprised.
  3. From the looks of those shoes, it would seem it will be difficult, make that impossible, to dance a Cajun rhythm like a Willys in 4 wheel drive. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 We especially enjoyed Keukenhof on our river cruise. And DW found a tulip named after the Dutch family that were her ancestors on her Mother's side.
  4. We did not have museums tickets in advance but lucked out with the Rijksmuseum. DW asked at the box office and there were no tickets available at the time, but there were for the next half hour. Before that we went to a smaller museum, Moco, IIRC, near there. Later, we went to the Jewish Quarters and the Portuguese Synagogue. We were told our tickets were also good for the Jewish Museum, so we also went there, but only for a little bit as it was near closing time.
  5. They did a Bob Marley tribute on our cruise on the second night. And I had laid out a Bob Marley tee shirt the night before to wear that day not knowing that there would be that tribure. They were really, really good! 😊
  6. Yes. Oddly when we did Florence on Your Own we seemed to be the only ones on the tour who were doing it for art as opposed to shopping. With DW being an art teacher (now retired), we were not going to miss the major museums. And echoing another post, buy in advance timed tickets for the major museums.
  7. We were on that London (Southampton) to Reykjavik cruise last August and never had more than a few minutes wait at Hudsons. On the first day I had asked if we could reserve a table by one of the windows for the sea day between Norway and Iceland for our wedding anniversary and was told it was all first come first served, but when we showed up that evening and presented the card saying it was our anniversary, they took us right to a table by one of the windows.
  8. My DW is a retired art teacher, but she was still an active elementary art teacher when we landed in Paris on our 40th anniversary. We were not going to miss Monet's gardens. She wanted a tee shirt, but they all seemed to be either large or kid sizes, and she needed small. She found just one. The checkout clerk said this will never fit you and opened it from its package and held it up to her. It was a perfect fit. And yes, it is one of the most beautiful spots on Earth.
  9. And I wonder what story a passenger would come up with when asked why do you have all your luggage with you for this port stop.
  10. And it is hard for them not to notice that you have all your luggage!
  11. Enjoy Paris! While waiting in the line to check our baggage for our flight in March to Amsterdam, I struck up a conversation with a young couple. They were going to Paris. I strongly suggested that though it is outside of Paris that they visit Monet's Gardens. I'm now giving you the same advice.
  12. You cannot just claim you just missed the ship when you disembark with your luggage. 🤦‍♂️
  13. And it does not really matter what answers are provided in this forum as the only answer that really matters is from the cruise line.
