  1. I will also add that I set up a Discord group with multiple channels to cover all sorts of topics from restaurants, to excursions, to shows, etc etc. People to discuss these items for over a year before the cruise so that if they were so inclined - they could read up on information if they wanted. If the didn't need to know the small details, they simply didn't participate in the pre-cruise discussion. Oh, and we all got matching T-shirts for embarkation day - that was very cool to get that photo 🙂
  2. How awesome that you got the cabana at that price. Were you guys the only ship at CocoCay that day?
  3. Curious.. a cabana for $350 after taxes?? Sheesh, that's an amazing deal - was this in the past 18 months, or back further than that?
  4. We did a group of 14 last summer, and our only "rule" was that we would eat together in the MDR. We had 2 tables right beside each other. What ppl did was totally up to them, yet we all met up for dinner to catch up on our days. No one likes to have their day planned for them by someone else.
  5. Depends if there is a gap in front of the person you are waiting on - otherwise, you're what? ... pushing in between two other people in front of them? It's all about minding the gaps.
  6. Wait until the points / loyalty system is based on a combination of money spent & nights onboard - like the airlines do. This board will light up like no tomorrow 🙂 (half-kidding, half-serious - but they have all said that the rewards programs are being revamped)

  8. And... just in case it's unknown... You can bid on all cabin categories they offer you. If you win, they will automatically cancel the other bids on the other cabins.
  9. We've been offered Royal Ups from interior to the Panoramic Suite - it's really not a suite by the "traditional" definition, I believe.
  10. Swim diapers are allowed in the Coco Cay pool though. I can't believe I am the first to mention this in this thread.... Adults are also allowed to sit at the swim-up bar at CocoCay all day without leaving the pool either. 😉
  11. IMO, the "no brainer" statement also had an unspoken assumption that the 3 day cruise itself was worth purchasing - because it's also a cruise (and not ONLY a way to get points). I took it as all those factors combine to make it a no brainer. Maybe it's just me.
  12. My experience is that you know fairly early (weeks) if your bid was successful - but I've received emails telling me I was not successful - on embarkation day. No one knows the magic formula, but there is a lot of speculation that the higher the cabin category you are bidding on - the earlier you will know of a successful bid because then those "lesser" cabins will be awarded to other bidders who bid on your original cabin type. Domino effect.
  13. Showing up 30 mins late.... I wonder if these are the ones complaining about the food being sub-par? After all, some of it was likely plated at the time everyone else was getting their courses, 30 mins earlier.
  14. Um... yup. I know. There are 2 of us in the cabin. If I were to purchase a 2 device plan under one name, and then compare it to The Key pricing - it was only $3 more pp/pd for the key. For us, the $3 works - so we bought the Key. Again - I've never seen the Key and the 2 device plan so close in price before - so we pulled the trigger.
  15. I've never bought the Key until just recently. The price for internet (multiple devices under one person) was only $3/day less than buying the Key. For us, the extra $21, or whatever, in total was worth it. Normally The Key "on Sale" is around $25/pp/pd, but we found it at ~$18 during one of the sales. Since Royal allows you to log-in and log-out , if one person wants to use multiple devices, they can.
