I received two of the three purchases I cancelled on the cruise planner a few days ago. The third has not credited.
Should I be worried.
-
I received new charges immediately and credit next day when I booked and cancelled cyber Monday for better rate. That is why I was concerned.
-
I cancelled my purchases right before cruise shutdown. I received confirmation email but so far no credit.
Anyone else having this problem?
-
My TA confirmed that it was cancelled after I answered email for refund.

I submitted the refund request last night via the link provided in the email, but have not got any acknowledgement/confirmation from them so far. Is there anyone successfully got their confirmation email after submitting refund request online? Thank you.
I responded to email also and have not received a confirmation yet either.

Has anyone responded to the email and requested full refund. I think it said I would be receiving a confirmation email but haven't yet. It sure made it easier on everyone not to have to wait on phones
-
is it better to cancel my prepurchases through the cruise planner or wait until my TA cancels cruise.

Kind of why I'm waiting until the last possible minute for my 29th March cruise on Liberty. For me, there's a finite number of solution sets:
- Situation improves and cruise goes as scheduled: 👍 (already upgraded cabins!)
- Situation doesn't improve but RCI precautions / screenings demonstrated to be effective: 👍 (thinking this is the most likely scenario)
- Situation doesn't improve and cruise is cancelled: 👎 (gimme back my money)
- Situation doesn't improve and ports are affected: 👎 (not into being redirected to Key West and CoCo Cay)
- Situation doesn't improve and warnings are upgraded: 👎 (gimme that future cruise credit)
- Situation doesn't improve and RCI precautions / screening prove ineffective: 👎 (ditto)
- Situation degrades in general: 👎 (ditto)
- Illness: 👎 (maybe a refund if we fail RCI screening?)

Royal is denying boarding us as grandson just got back from Singapore so I really thought it should be refund not future cruise credit but I was advised not so.

Not sure if this has been posted already but seems the travel advice has changed slightly with regards to Caribbean itineraries.
Regardless of nationality, we will deny boarding to:
....
d. Additionally, for Caribbean itineraries only: Any person who has – or has been in contact with someone who has – traveled from, to, or through mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan 20 days prior to embarkation.
2. Mandatory, specialized health screenings will be performed on:
e. Additionally, for Caribbean itineraries only: Any person who has – or has been in contact with someone who has – traveled from, to, or through Thailand, France, Germany, and Spain 20 days prior to embarkation
What does Royal do. Refund or future cruise credit

That sounds more like Thailand temps. Wuhan, China is averaging around 50F for lows and 60F for highs. It would have been much cooler 2 months ago.
Apologies, geography isn't my strong point. Thought he was closer but you are right. Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. Actually that makes me feel better.Lol

You may want to check the calendar.
My grandson has been in Asia since January. It's been in the high 80's and 90's.

If the weather had any effect against this disease then why are people in warmer countries like Australia getting it and dying from it, as a Nurse I can assure you this is not like the flu, at this point no one knows how bad it will get, the people who say it's nothing just don't want to pass up their cruise
I wondered that myself. It started in China and Hong Kong and it's summer there.

Another interesting question, if you have regular travel insurance and a medical reason makes it necessary for you to cancel, you would probably want the insurance reimbursement in cash, not the FCC from RC. I wonder if you can turn down the FCC and if the insurance company would allow you to turn down the FCC?
I was wondering this also.

It would be a pain to fly to San Juan to prove you have a fever. Interested to see what happens.
-
Yes it is from the RC credit card
-
Although not my biggest worry I have been holding off using my RC visa points. My cruise is in three weeks. Will I lose credit if cruise is cancelled.

This is a very port intensive cruise so I doubt they’ll cancel stops. There have been no cases of the virus in San Juan or any islands in the Caribbean with the exception of one case in Dominican Republic. That would be the only port they’d cancel.
I read that St Lucia has cancelled on another RC ship because of nationality of crew. Poster said they received email from RC.

We sail out of San Juan on the 28th and plan to cruise but our daughter is urging us to change our mind. She’s extremely worried. We spent 2 1/2 days in Bayonne in February, unable to board since we were waiting for confirmation that passengers disembarking from Anthem didn’t have the virus. (They didn’t.). I know if we decide not to go, we’ll get nothing back so we’ll be out $3700 for airfare and cruise. We have travel insurance but it doesn’t cover epidemics, which corona is considered.
I'm on this cruise with you and my bf is not happy about going. He's afraid of being stuck on ship with no stops. I hope we have a better idea in a week or so.

Nothing is consistent. Usually around 45 days out though.
I hope so. I bought those nifty luggage tag holders😣

I know this has been answered somewhere but can't find it. Reservation shows it is pending. Just have seapass.

Do the bartenders make other drinks. Like a black Russian or martini?

Way more similarities than differences.
1. Show up when you're ready!
2. Dining room food, IMO, is very similar with Carnival getting the edge on desserts.
3. Not sure. May be an option if the ship has a Vintages???
4. Check your Cruise Planner. On Harmony you can reserve times for the shows. This is highly recommended. All of the prices for drink packages etc. are there.
5. To me, one of the major differences between the two is how they handle pool towels. On Carnival, room stewards exchange these each night and you can also exchange on the pool deck. On Royal, the checking in and out of towels is on the passenger, with people lining up and ensuring they don't get charged $25 post cruise because of a foul up or forgotten towel. Other than subjective food options, this is the one area I wish Royal would adopt Carnival's methods. It's small beans but, hey, we are comparing.
6. You're on a cruise - Have a great time!
Do they start you with a beach towel in your cabin. This is my first in a long time on Royal. I am a loyal carnival fan.

Started cruising on Royal switched to Carnival. Gold gets a free water and drink. You are right you move up if you are on cruise to next level.
Loved the Vision itinerary so back to Royal.
