  1. My TA tells me that Carnival no longer allows them to request a table for four. You are required to go to the maitre d on the ship and make the request. This seems crazy. I am booking eight months before sailing. It seems like a waste of my vacation time and the maitre d's time to attend to this request. Since we will be in Puerto Rico and not sailing until 10pm we wanted to go into town after settling in.

It seems every request we make requires my TA to talk to three or four representatives before asking for a supervisor that finally agrees that our request is valid. What is happening here.

  2. Just booked the repositioning cruise on the Elation for April 13. We have sailed on the Valour and the Freedom without any problem. I have been reading the reviews and several people mentioned a problem with seasickness. Do you think a repositioning cruise from San Juan to Jacksonville would encounter rough weather at that time of year?

  3. I would love to see fun times for that itinerary. Also what are the formal number nights.

  4. Thanks so much. I have a Sony Cybershot. This is probably the 5th Sony Cybershot I've owned. I lose so many cameras. But I LOVE these little cameras. They take great pictures and the zoom is awesome. The one I have has 10X optical zoom. It also has pretty nice features such as the ability to take panoramic pics and those black and white pics that only show the color you choose (red, blue, green & yellow) I love this little camera. :)

I was going to ask the same question. The pictures are fabulous. So looking forward to this cruise after reading your review. Thank you.

  5. We also learned about how bananas are grown

We made two more stops. One for cookies. Some sort of REALLY crunch coconut cookies that were AWESOME and warm bread (that looked like baseball bats) and cheese. This was delicious also.

Everytime I come to St Lucia, I'll do this tour. That's just how great it was. He provides a GREAT service.

Went on this excursion a few years ago. We stopped at a friends house and had a buffet lunch. Does he still do this? We are going again in June.

  6. We also got this notice and it's quite confusing. I wish they would say something like: anyone NOT from the US must get one.

How do they tell or keep track? By your passport?

It's a bit complicated. If you are from the US but have traveled to a country with yellow fever before traveling to Barbados you would need vaccine.

  7. We used RIL and tour guide supplies by them for the Vatican and Mary was a great guide. Especially if it's your first visit there you want to get the most out of it. We did the same for Pompeii. Worth every penny you pay(plus tip). As mentioned above we also met the guide at the gate in Pompeii and were inside in a couple minutes. As far as the Vatican they recommended we see that in the afternoon when it's not as crowded. We liked RIL so much we used them 3 times on our visit there this past December.

How did you divide the tip between the driver and guide?

  8. Sorry to inform you of this, but your grandparents are probably doing it too.

As a mother of a 17yo DD, I can tell you, boys HAVE to be easier. My sister has 2 boys, one 17 and the other 19. Biggest arguement at their house is over haircuts. Oh how I wish for such trivial problems. Don't get me wrong, me daughter is a GREAT kid, honors program, graduating early from high school, career minded and HORMONAL..............................

I have to agree! Not to freak you out more but we do!

  9. We loved Hassine and Sally from the Voyager. Sally was so sweet and always remembered our names and special drinks. She knew I loved bread and kept coming over with more. Hassine always came over to our table if he saw us at breakfast or lunch and made sure we had everything we needed. I thought all the head waiters deserve a special thanks on this ship. They really worked hard to make sure we didn't lack anything.

Also I wanted to mention Bobby Chen from the Zenith. He served drinks and always had something special to say. He was everywhere and would always hurry over to us. He was leaving to get married when we sailed in June but gave us his phone number so we could call him when we went to Jamaica latter in the summer.
