  1. Okay good haha. Thank you for starting this thread. Sorry we never ran in to each other!
  2. Well I am in the Seattle airport waiting for my flight back to Austin. It’s almost 100° there today… I don’t want to think about it!!! The cruise was great and just what I needed as a break from a long stressful year at work. It was also my first solo trip. Now, would I sail solo again? Eh, maybe - it depends on the circumstances. I do really prefer traveling with a companion as part of the joy in traveling for me is making memories with friends and/or family. Even though I made friends on this cruise, I still felt a little empty sometimes. But that’s okay! I think I just need to get more comfortable traveling solo and maybe that feeling will go away. I do have a solo business trip coming up next month so this also helped me ease into that. Overall, a great cruise. Sorry if I hijacked this thread for a while @ceilidh1 - just wanted to report out on anything that happened after you got off!
  3. Good morning from Seattle. Hard to believe that this cruise is already over.
  4. Good morning everyone. We are about two hours out from Seattle. Still can’t get over how amazing that sailaway was last night!
  5. Had a beautiful sailaway from Vancouver. We are out and heading south to Seattle. Bad weather forecast but not as bad as the last two days. Photos aren’t attaching so I will post tomorrow when I get cell service again in port. Goodnight everyone!
  6. So the new entertainment tonight was a “comedy mentalist.” His bit is not very comical so I left (sorry dude, maybe if I sat closer to the stage and could see everything going on I would’ve stayed.) Was going to go to tonight’s game show in Princess Live, but I don’t want to miss the nighttime sailaway going under the bridge so I think I’ll be out on deck for that instead. For some reason I still didn’t get any disembarkation information. I saw a couple of other people on the three-day waiting at the bar earlier and they also never got any papers. I guess we are going to wing it in the morning!
  7. Here’s today’s Patter. We have a very late departure tonight at 8:45 PM, so there’s not much going on. The scheduled guest vocalist missed his flight so there was an entertainment change that is not listed here. Please excuse my markings. That transpacific repositioning cruise looks amazing. Maybe one day…
  8. I’m not sure how active I’ll be, but I guess I can keep it going for the few hours that we three day people have left on board! So this was my first time in Vancouver, and even any part of Canada, so I really wanted to take it as much as possible. However, with the not-so-great weather, I was only out for about six hours. Ended up doing a hop on/hop off bus, and walked around Granville Island, Gastown, and Stanley Park for a while. The walk back to Canada Place from Stanley Park is beautiful and I bet it is even better when the sky is blue and there’s no rain. I think I bought too many souvenirs - having a hard time closing my suitcase… I have a late flight tomorrow so I’ll be checking my luggage downtown and killing time at Pike Place Market tomorrow afternoon. The weather in Seattle tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same of what we had today in Vancouver, so no point in paying for the space needle if visibility is poor. I’ll be back for an Alaska cruise in the future anyways, so I can wait a little longer 😉
  9. I am staying on for disembarkation tomorrow morning in Seattle. I guess I found the cruise during the “sweet spot” when the round trip was briefly for sale. I would say that at least 90% of the passengers are new. We were technically classed as “in transit” passengers with a B2B protocol even though we get off tomorrow AM. What is even more interesting is that in my Captain’s Circle account my trip seems to have counted for two sailings, and with the solo bonus, that means I got four “cruises” out of this one trip. Score!
  10. I am getting off Tomorrow in Seattle and i haven’t even gotten my disembarkation sheet yet… Glad to see that you had a great time!
  11. I think those were at the bars up top. I remember seeing one at Mermaid’s tail on Lido and I think there was another at the Outrigger bar? I might be mistaken though.
  12. Well I just found out via guest services that the Seattle port concierge luggage service is not being offered for our Tuesday debarkation, even though our shuttle driver to the ship yesterday told us that it was. I have an evening flight and I’m not sure what I am going to do with my suitcase now. All of the few luggage storage places operating near Pike Place Market are closed on Tuesday as well. I saw online that Nordstrom’s in downtown will check and secure luggage for free but that was in 2017 and I can’t find any verification for if this service is still being offered. Does anyone know if they still offer that service or have any tips for this predicament?
  13. I went to the early show of the comedian (Miguel Washington) and thought he was really funny. You should try to make it to one of his shows tonight. It was a good routine and I would’ve gone to his second show if I wasn’t so tired from all the traveling and time zone changes!
  14. Good morning from the Pacific Ocean. I guess my body clock is still on the central time zone because I have been up since 5:30 ships time! Lots of rain and wind out, I’ll take a photo when the sun comes up. I have a feeling most people will be staying indoors today
  15. Alfredo’s menu with new prices. The food was excellent. However, there were only like three tables there for dinner at 6:30 PM. I guess people don’t want to pay the new prices. I ordered the antipasto, a pizza, and the tiramisu. It was very good and the Pizza definitely lives up to the hype, but I’m not sure if I would pay to eat here if I didn’t have it included in Princess Plus or another type of package. I will probably be back Tomorrow because the only other “casual dining” inclusions onboard are sushi and the charcuterie board.
  16. The NCL Bliss is also still tied up. Maybe the weather caused flight delays. Not sure.
  17. This is just really funny to me. By the way the room still slightly smells like cigars
  18. Captain just came on for a voyage overview. I swear every time I step foot on a Princess ship it becomes cursed - 35 knot winds and rough seas tomorrow. You know you need to play it safe when the captain says “please note the locations of the handrails throughout the ship” 🙄
  19. Weather is not on our side so they moved the sail away party to the Piazza. Good thing that I brought my rain coat since I’ll still be on deck to watch! Here’s the Eurodam casting off from just a few moments ago.
  20. This is already a cruise full of crazy coincidences. It is only my second Princess cruise and when they made the first announcement I realized that the CD for this sailing is the exact same one as my first cruise in April on the Ruby. And then, to get even CRAZIER, I ran into some friends I met from that cruise on the promenade!! I am from Central Texas and they are from the Bay Area and we just casually ran in to each other on a pacific coastal from Seattle. What are the odds?!? maybe I should go gambling with all this crazy luck…
  21. Was on the ship by 10:45. Amazing! Had a huge hiccup though… I tried to buy the princess plus package onboard. The agent told me to go to the bar. I bought it at the bar and checked my folio… and they sold me the BEVERAGE package only. Which is more than all of PPlus. Had to get it sorted out at guest services but I think we are in the clear now…
  22. I will also be on this sailing. Was going to start my own live but good to see someone else is already starting a thread. I will be on the three-night sailing. You might be wondering - why the heck is someone flying all the way from Central Texas and back for a three night cruise? The answer - I found this trip for an unbelievably cheap price back in June and I really couldn’t pass it up. I wasn’t planning on cruising again until 2024 as I am a young working professional with the budget for MAYBE one cruise a year, but I’m doing this entire trip for a total bargain and the flight ended up costing more than the entire cruise. Coupled with how busy work has been lately and this will be a much needed break. I’m also using it as an experiment of sorts. It will be my first time flying to a port as opposed to driving, my first time ever going to Canada, and it will also be my first SOLO trip! I couldn’t find anyone who would be able to join me this time, so I reluctantly took the plunge and decided to go solo. I am honestly very nervous, but I’m hoping my fears get alleviated a bit once onboard. I am kind of terrified to be solo for this trip but also a little excited. I think a big plus of this trip is the weather - it’s supposed to be cold and rainy every day of the cruise, but here in Texas, it’s been 100°+ nearly every day since late May (and still forecast like that through the end of September) with very little rain. So even if I get wet walking around, I’ll take it! Sitting in the airport right now waiting for my 5:30 AM flight. Yeehaw. So ready to get up north and cool off. Looking forward to this much needed break!
  23. Whoops. I started my own live for this sailing without seeing this one. I’m going to have my thread deleted as there is no point in having two lives for the same short cruise.
  24. I know that April was a few months ago, but I was told on Ruby earlier this year that it was NOT being offered and they could not provide an explanation on when it might start back up again. The only "behind the scenes" experience that was offered was the short stroll through part of the galley after the cooking demonstration.
