It's my first time on Princess

I'm on a 31-day trip next year from San Francisco to Synday and bought the internet pacage for one device for $465.00

For this trip we've booked a Mini-Suite so we don't feel cramped, and so my wife can have the bathtub to take a leisurly soak a couple time a week. Usually we do a balcony, but we splurged this time.

Thanks for all of the comments, suggestions, and insights. I am thankful that Princess has a laundromat, it will sure make packing easier.

This particular trip is only two segment options; at 23-day from San Francisco to New Zealand, or the 32-day going all the way to Sydney.

Next year (in September) I'll be doing a month-long trip from San Francisco to Sydney as a retirement trip for my wife and I. I'm wondering if some of you that may have done a trip of this length in the past can share how this kind of trip may differ from the typical one or two week trips. I would imagine that there are few if any children, in that it's during the school year. Are the shows in the theater repeated? And what else can you tell me. Thanks

In San Francisco can I drop off my bags with the ship in the morning, and go back out to the Wharf for a few hours and come back and check in some time in the afternoon when it's less crowded?

In business the way to kill a product or service and not directly have the company take full blame is to raise the price to a point where no one is buying and then eliminate it and say it was because of lack of sales. Then they can do as others have suggested and convert the space to another full cost venue.

In a cabin where there are two TVs close to each other - such as a mini-suite - is there bluetooth capability or a headphone jack so that two people could be watching different programs at the same time and not disturb each other?

If I purchase Medallion Net - 1 Device, does that mean one device can actively use the Medallion Net at any one time or that only one device will be able to register and use the Medallion Net durign the trip? Also, does this service every go "On Sale"? I will be on a 31 day trip making this a bit costly.

Personally, I'm fine if they move it along and bring the food at a decent pace like in a restaurant where they want to turn over the tables to get more customers in. Sometimes the service takes too long for my taste. I want to eat and get on to other things.

I have a few Questions about "Dine My Way," perhaps some of you experienced Princess travelers could helps me. I have a long trip coming up (31 days), and I signed up for same time dinner each night in the Michelangelo Dining Room. Is that a mistake? The fact is we may not want to do that absolutely every night. How would I pick individuals night to cancel the reservation either ahead (before we leave on the trip, or a day or two ahead while we are on the ship? What happens if you don't show up, does your booking for the rest of the nights get cancelled? I can't find it now, but I remember seeing a choice somewhere about whether you like eating at a slow, medium, or fast pace. What is that about? Thanks

I will be new to Princess on an upcoming cruise, and want to understand the Medallion. Can I just put it in my pocket like a key card? I don't really want to hang it around my neck for five weeks and I'm not likely to buy any accessories for it.

I will be leaving on a cruise out of San Franciso. My question is, will Princess Cruises allow me to bring a loaf of Boudin's Sourdough bread on the ship with me?

darlene62 I agree with you. Though I love NCL - to the point that I am Sapphire Level - but it's time to look around, both for price and variety. My last trip and one of my next two trips will be on other cruise lines.

Would it be a mistake to have a room near one of the Laundromats on a long cruise (31 days)? Do the machines make a lot of noise and would there be a lot of traffic in and out of that room? I know the cabin room doors are well insulated, but should this be a concern? Thanks

My plan is to do four days in Australia touring around, then take the cruise over to Auckland and then stay there for another three days. What is the Medallion?

On the NCL site the trip I hade been talking about has been pulled. I talked to a consultant on line and they confirmed that it is no longer available. I am going to Princess for my trip.

The dates of the trips I am comparing are a week apart in February 2025. They are two balcony cabins with no add-on (speciality dining, drink packages etc.). The Princess ship is larger (Royal Princess at 3,600 passengers) and NCL Spirit (at a little over 2,000). I would love to sail on NCL, being Sapphire level, but this is the only ship they use down there. I'm not sure why people would go on it at those prices.
