  1. For those more in the know of things; do you think there is any chance of weekend itineraries in the future that include Key West and CocoCay? We love a day at CocoCay; it's the best private cruise line stop in the Bahamas. We also love being in Key West for a day; find it far superior to Nassau. If saw it offered would book it a few times a year as a getaway weekend. Have they ever tried this; do you think they could/would try this? Who else would like to go to Key West over Nassau? If this is offered somewhere already (or any Bahamas beach stop + Key West on a 3 day) let me know đź‘Ť
  2. That blows the whole "everyone has a drink package" out of the water I suppose
  3. Just your opinion. That's fine. I disagree with every word of it.
  4. That's a pretty tall claim to make that Celeb is treating those in quarantine differently based on cabin/status. I think differences may come down to staff levels onboard / how many covid cases there are, but it sounds a bit far fetched to think the company factors in your loyalty status or cabin in the onboard care.
  5. I appreciate the explanation early on, but the smug attitude the second half...unnecessary. It seems to idea of discussion of ideas has been abandoned, everyone just takes a side and defends it with or without merit.
  6. Should my kid bring their own set, or is it more responsible as the parent that I bring enough for us to share 🙂 Thank you for the link.
  7. October of 21 was my previous RCI. They did not scan our cards in the lounge.
  8. I view it as "more of the same" once the evening rolls around; bars open, food service open. It never really ends. Bars at resorts and on land manage with a constant change of guests. The answer feels a bit of a cop out.
  9. Not too much on the differences honestly. Are S-Class Aqua cabins larger or superior to standard Balcony cabins?
  10. Do you know if the half price Specialty charge is the regular specialty menu, or a "Kid-fied" version of that?
  11. Comparing some Edge class trips, with the controversial infinite verandah, versus pricing for Solstice-class ships but looking to upgrade to Aqua class. Would like to get opinions and input from people who have done both. Is Aqua worth the additional expense over regular balcony on S class? Is Aqua on S class preferable to standard infinite verandah balcony on an Edge-class? We met people onboard the Equinox and of the handful we met that had been on both ships, they said they preferred S class to Edge.
  12. They do; there are restrooms just outside the buffet entrance. So, your clean hands touching a single item and then not slobbering all of yourself and touching another item isn't a particular issue for anyone.
  13. I don't mind the answer at all. I just think "the way" has room for improvement.
  14. Good afternoon - the HAL site says Kids 12 and under dine for half off in Specialty dining, or free off the Kids Menu. By Kids Menu, do they mean a scaled down/smaller portion version of the Specialty restaurant menu? or By Kids Menu, do they mean the same one served in MDR with kid staples like Pizza, Chicken Finger, Buger, Quesadilla?
  15. As a member of other cruise/airline/hotel programs I think it would just be more in line with their offerings and another step towards the care-free attitude when you step onboard versus studying policies. One evening we entered the dining room, drink in hand. When we finished them our waiter asked if we wanted another; we explained it was just a CC HH drink and he said no worries, he will take care of it, and had a drink delivered to us and one waiting the next evening. It was a very class touch we thought. However on Royal Caribbean, I can simply ask the waiter without feeling like I'm putting them on the spot, or like it's special treatment. Wait staff at the buffet would serve us drinks during HH if we dined there; including at the Oceanview bar that was open until 7. It's just slightly incongruous that I could sit on a beautiful oceanview terrace at 6:30PM eating dinner and having waitstaff bring me a comped drink, while if I was in the enclosed dining room downstairs at the same time, they could not. I'm not on Cruise Critic to armchair CFO how cruiselines can slice a bit more profit; I'm a paying customer and here to advocate for the things I think would be improvements to my experience, no matter how slight they may be. Observations, thoughts, discussions, not demands or hardlines of course. I find it strange others will say 'Well, that's how it has always been done'. That's not a logic or explanation, just a fact of how something has been handled. Two minor changes; HH the first evening, and availability in dining room would be two small changes to the program that would increase my satisfaction.
  16. Thank you for the help and speedy responses. Nice tips. My next thing I am trying to determine is if the hydropool is included with fitness center access, or is the hydro pool an optional upcharge?
  17. I understand more staff would be needed. That could result in increased cruise costs. But this is a premium experience and I'm willing to pay a few dollars a day more for that level of service. People simply can't be trusted to wash their hands or engage in the most basic of healthy protocols. Watching people graze as they walk the buffet is repulsive.
  18. On my last RCI cruise they only depleted my daily drinks if I ordered somewhere outside the Diamond Lounge. Inside the DL they still treated it as unlimited. It doesn't much matter to me; I generally just have 2 or 3 drinks over the time. I found Celebrity much more restrictive as it is for an hour less and does not apply in the dining room either; usually would have a pre-dinner drink and then get another to go into dinner with. But the first day thing really makes no sense to me at all. Even if it is new guests onboard, not sure why that matters. Not as important to me that they did away with a dedicated lounge. I think the Sky Lounge should be open to everyone as it's one of the best venues on the ship. In fact I think they should offer all guests onboard 5pm specials in the Sky Lounge to make it a more convivial place to be.
  19. If you choose to get room service, a few dollars is customary at the time of delivery. Cash is light and travels easy; the total amount spent is up to you. I'd carry a bit more than $40 and make sure you have it in small bills. You can always bring it back home.
