  1. last time we did b2b we did NOT have to get off of ship. each port does it different

But keep in mind that in reality you are on two separate cruises.

So you have to close out your casino account the last night.

You will recieve a final bill that could impact credit availability on the 2nd leg.

You will get a new S&S card with an entirely new folio number and possibly a new MDR and/or table assignment.

if you want the same table and servers let the MatraD know two or three days before the end of the first leg of your cruise. They will usually let you choose your table

You should complete both checkin documents prior to your 1st cruise ie. new travel info, credit card info, emergency contact.....

You'll get a letter in your cabin a day or two prior to the end of the 1st cruise telling you where to meet with Guest Services to do all the turn around stuff. It usually happens around 9:30 or so on debarkation day.

You are welcome to come and go from your cabin all day, no need to stay away. I always tell my cabin steward to leave the turnover of my cabin to the next day if he wants to, that I just need clean towels but I spread up my own bed.

  2. Did you get all the premium perks on both cruises; we are doing our first premium cruise on Sept 28 and then another on Oct 5th. both are suppose to be the Casino premium package. It sounds great from what I read on this thread....dot ps; congrats on your jackpot

On the first day of the second leg I hit a jackpot for $1600 :D it did seem like the casino was less crowded on the second leg, also I got the drinks on us card automatically because I accumulated over 5000 points on the first leg.
  3. I love roulette and always tip the guy that spins the wheel, but I do not know how to place a bet for him/her. Any hints on how to do this? dot

I have sat at roulette all day long on a sea day and would bet that the dealers received less than $50 tips all day. At at typical 2 hour rotation they would cash out 3 or so $1 tips plus my 15. My wife and I were just aghast to watch people come through and play out a few hundred and not even toss a $1 chip to the dealer. But I guess tipping is a personal thing...
  4. We like the Blackjack band too; they are in the Ocean Plaza on deck 5

they play music you can dance to from different periods of time.

and they have some humor too

    give them a try

We love Blackjack! They might not be the very best, but they sure are good and play lots of different genres of music. If they were not good, I doubt that the lounge they play in would be full every night.

I know we all look at things differently, but they are a great, fun band. Enjoy!

  5. It was a $1 denimination 2 coin max bet 5X5X5X machine. I put in $20 and hit for $10,000 (5X5X5X all across) on my 3rd spin!

The funny thing is my DH wasnt feeling well so I said OK you go up to the room and Ill come up to the room in a few minutes. Well when I called the room for him to get my drivers licenense and told him what I won he "mysteriously" felt better :D

I'll look for that machine; ust might get lucky:D

  6. We need to know what's on the menu the first night in the MDR.

We have never sailed under the Skyway Bridge and have early dining.

If it's the same old, same old, we will skip the MDR and stay up on deck.

I don't remember the main course BUT it is the only night they have creme brulee:D

  7. Both times we sailed on the Dream, the fridge didn't have a freezer. In fact, the fridge wasn't even really cold, just chilled.

I agree, it is very hard to find room to put anything in it. They have it stuffed with items for you to buy. However if you ask the steward he will remove the items.

  8. Were leaving on the first cruise after dry dock in September 2012 can not wait we have 8 people joining us 5 have never sailed before so this will be intresting. My question is there a elevator to the pasta bar my DW is in a wheel chair and we wanted to try this first, also is it easy to maneuver a wheel chair aroun on The Dream. i would appericate the info if anyone has any:cool::D;)

I use a walker and did not have a problem with the ship; however fellow cruisemates are another subject. There is an elevator at the aft of the ship and comes out at the pasta bar which is great. The staff were so helpful in the Lido, always someone there offering to help. The buritto bar is in the aft part of Lido too and is good. Some staff person always got my buritto for me. I offered to tip them but they would not take it.

  9. I buy a cheap $1store flag that has an appropriate theme (beach, palm tree, or etc) and put it next to the door. Fun, and lets us know we are home in that big long hallway.

We have some large fish that we attach to the frame of the door so it sticks out. we usually always get a room near the elevators and it is quite nice to turn the corner and see we are home. Many people have thanked us because they know they are getting close to their cabin too.

  10. As a whole, the posted photos of decorated doors do remind me of an amateurish grade school level class project. They really look bad....

But hey it's their vacation! If they want to decorate their door in a manner that befits a fourth grader, who am I to criticize? Just don't be offended at my derisive laugh as I pass by.

    See you on Lido deck!

because there are people on board (mostly bored teenagers) who have fun destroying things, it is not pratical to put expensive art work on the doors. Just close your eyes as you pass by.

  11. We had that face that is by the door handle on our door once:D

I didn't realize there was a contest. I'll have to look for that the next time. This is my friends door that I decorated for her a few weeks ago on the Destiny. My door pic was even fuzzier then this. I need to take better pictures

  12. How about that?!? I've never seen one. It's interesting when they do have contests--DD won a costume contest in Camp Carival one time. We didn't know they were going to have one but threw a costume together from what we had with us. I guess if they had a door decorating contest on one of my cruises, I'd figure something out. :D

the week they had the contest there was a small item in the Fun Times on the right side saying to register at the front desk if anyone wanted to enter the contest. It was only for one day; we registered and the next morning had a ship on the stick in our mailbox:D dot

  13. I've never seen a Carnival-sponsored contest. The contests I've been aware of have been for Cruise Critic roll calls.

When on the Dream in 9/2011 they did have a door decorating contest; which we won I think because we were the only ones that entered. but then in Jan 2012; they did not have it any longer

So we did get a ship on the stick once

  14. A lot of people who DO NOT decorate their doors, thank us and say it makes it easier for them to know they are going down the right hall when they see the decorations. We try to add something new each day and many people notice that too. For us it is fun; not for everybody. Some have things they do that we would never do. Part of what makes the world go round.

  15. we have been on 45 cruises and always decorate our doors. It is a family project before we go and everyone enjoys looking for different things to put on the doors. We find a lot of items at the Dollar store and yes sometimes they do disappear (but usually not till the last nite) we take pictures in front of the door and then scrapbook with them. this is my first time to try and attach a picture. Hope it works:p
