Did anyone on this message board decide to rent a car in Honolulu and drive around? From what I understand, you must pick up and return the car at the airport. We have no desire to drive in the dark so would be returning by 7pm. Is it worthwhile to consider this? I’m not sure what sightseeing spots are close by and driving distances….would love to hear some first hand experiences with this.

We are booked on the snorkel excursion next year with Christophe as well. That was my main concern with booking the morning tour….getting off the tender in time. Hopefully, we’ll be on one of the first tenders since most passengers are unlikely to have a booking to get to. Looking forward to meeting you next year. On a side note, I’ve noticed that lobster, escargot, and prime rib have showed up in the Lido Buffet a few times on your cruise. Do they post a menu beforehand? Sounds like a better option than dressing up for the MDR.

Was this with Fakarava Excursions? Trying to book for next year but the response time is a bit slow. How was it getting off on the tenders in the morning….a bit worried that we won’t be able to get off in time for an 8:30am excursion.

@BermudaBound2014 we are booked next year on the “Tahiti Lagoon Discovery”. Is that the same one as the one you were on? What was wrong with it? Can you elaborate?

Which HAL tour did you do that was disappointing? We are booked for the Tahiti Lagoon Discovery next year. We’re also doing the Coral Garden Drift Snorkel in Raiatea….super excited about that one.

We booked all our excursions for the South Pacific and just a couple so far for Hawaii. I’m really finding the Hawaii tours to be over priced and not really anything that catches my eye. We’re thinking of perhaps renting a car in Honolulu and doing some sightseeing.

We are on the 2025 sailing. All the shore excursions have been available on the website and app for several months now.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I think we’re going to book the 2025 cruise. We love snorkelling….are there good snorkelling excursions offered? Where could I look for some examples of the shore excursions offered?

I am interested in taking this cruise in 2025 . The ship is the Koningsdam . Has anybody taken this cruise? Would you recommend it?

I was actually going to transfer the items to my carry one and have them all packaged together to make it easier. I just hope I ge the items back after the cruise. I’ll be pissed if I lose my favourite chef knife.

We are going on a cruise on the Equinox but are heading onward to Mexico for the remainder of the winter after we disembark. I need to bring items for our stay in Mexico that are not permitted on the cruise such as a frying pan, chef’s knife, some food and spices, power strip and extension cord. If I pack these items separately in my carryon and inform them of them when I embark, will they hold them for me for the cruise duration?

Have some leftover OBC to use up and debating on booking one of the beach excursions offered. Does anyone know which beach they go to?

We are going on a 10 night cruise in late November to St. Kitts/Nevis, Martinique, St. Lucia, Barbados, and Antigua. Have so far only booked a snorkel excursion in Barbados. Already have catamaran trips lined up for St. Kitts and St. Lucia. Wondering if I should consider snorkel trips in Martinique or Antigua or just head to the beach.

We are researching cruises and are considering the Celebrity Equinox. What exactly is “evening chic”? My husband hates dressing up and I have nothing in my closet that is formal. We also need to pack strategically since we are heading straight to Mexico after the cruise for the remainder of the winter. Would a pair of linen pants and a golf shirt cut it for him? Can I get by with capri pants and a nice shirt or a summer dress? What about footwear….I’ve read that sandals are taboo? Are women allowed open toe sandals? Trying to keep our packing light and practical as we’re actually packing for the entire winter in Mexico.
