  1. I thought the Britannia cruises looked particularly cheap!

I have to agree with you Jean, they are far more reasonable than this years launch prices were, and the gap between each category of cabin of the same type seems far less as well.

It will be very interesting to see if the prices for the rest of the fleet follow a simiar path.

If the address above works, this is Celebrity's 2015 Europe Brochure. Sorry if this has been posted before, or it does not work.

    Excellent thank you for that.

Interestingly we have just booked the Iceland & Fjords 27th June cruise through our TA and the price we received for a balcony (2B at 2C price = 1 category upgrade) was £200pp less than the price shown in the brochure, however the 13th Sept Canaries price was the same as the brochure price.

  3. Thanks for the reply. :) I suppose they're keeping their cards close to their chests until some sort of big reveal.

You're right though, it does seem daft now that she's on the water and we're still waiting to see what's on offer.

All in good time though I suppose. ;)

It all depends on how many bits they have left after they finish;), and where they decide to stick them.;)

  4. Anyone know why when I try to go back into these boards it tells me I have to change my password?

The system is set up to require you to change your password every 6 months, as long as you can remember the old one it should allow you to go through the new password process and then give you access.

  5. Add another one interested in Canary Island itinerary and pricing to the list. I see the release to loyalty members was supposed to be this week, but I haven't heard anything yet and when I log in to their website, it doesn't add anything that I can't see without logging in.

Spoke with my TA (the big UK one nr Chesterfield) yesterday and they were able to give lead in pricing indications for all 2015 summer cruises, not definitive but near enough to give you a fairly good idea.

She also confirmed that they go on sale 9:00am on Thursday 13th March for Captains club members.

  6. Unless you were already on C deck then IMO I think you have missed a great upgrade.

As the others have said C deck balconies are twice the size of all other standard balconies and give you 50/50 sun and shade, beats listening to the wake every time.

  7. I'm surprized that they didn't offer the price reduction in the form of an OBC as opposed to a straight credit applied to your credit card. Very poor business decision.

If they give you $300 back that is exactly what they loose. If they give you a $300 OBC and you use it onboard they loose less than half of it.

    Don't go giving them ideas!:eek::rolleyes:

  8. Hi all,

We have been reading the comments on this thread, as well as the other thread. While we don't want to comment on the demographics discussion, as well as who we are attracting, we can say that we are looking into the music issue to determine if and why it is too loud. Apologies that we can't comment any further (at least for now), but wanted to at least let everyone know that we aren't ignoring these discussions, and are in fact looking into this.

    Hi Patty,

Please consider us to be Celebrity's representative. We work in Miami, and this was only brought to our attention yesterday when we first saw the post. This issue actually has nothing to do with demographics or our audience. We want everyone on our ship to be happy, and to have an enjoyable cruise.

We are looking into this issue, and will make any changes if necessary.

As a fairly recent convert to Celebrity, especially their S class ships, I am very happy to see that my chosen favourite cruise line is watching and listening to the comments of its Cruise Critic passengers.

During my cruises I have occasioinally noticed overloud music mainly on the deck, but not all the time and not enough to put me off.

However I did find the comments about targetting a younger demographic a little concerning, although I can well understand any holiday supplier wanting to maximise the spending potential of their clients.

To this end it would certainly make interesting reading if Celebrity, or any cruise line, did disclose the range and value of on board spending by age groups.

It might in fact be beneficial to Celebrity by encouraging some in the lesser spending groups to up their game so as not to be overlooked.

  9. Details coming soon...

Join Arcadia, Aurora, Azura, Adonia, Oceana, Oriana and NEW Britannia in 2015 or early 2016.

This headline is from an on line cruise TA, do you think its just a typo, or is Ventura being sent of somewhere else.

  10. If you mean a traditional promenade deck (covered deck that encircles the ship so you can walk a full lap back to your starting point) then Adventure does not have one. I think you can walk a full lap around the ship on the pool deck, but it isn't covered.

Does it have any outside prom deck on deck 4, and can you get to the outdoor deck and observation deck areas in the forward part of deck 5 with a wheelchair or only via stairs?

  11. I would not wait until final. If you booked yourself follow up with Princess now.

If through a TA then have them do it.

Certainly agree with that, and if there is a further reduction later you could get that as well, we did for our May cruise, but you need to ask for it.

  12. Thanks for the extra info Kyriecat and MLF, those lounge and buffet table issues happen on most ships, to a greater or lesser degree.

As regards the promenade deck, is there an outside promenade deck on the Voyager class? The RCI deck plans don't show any doorways on any deck so you can't tell from them where and in what location they are.

  13. Actually RCCL does state this information on the link provided when saying All dining and bar venues offer wheelchair seating . As a person who uses a mobility scooter regularly , I'm very much aware that even if the venue is designed for wheelchair accessibility just exactly how accessible it is will vary depending on the crowd at the particular time one is at that venue/lounge. Also whether or not people will move to allow you to get to the wheelchair seating is also an unknown factor.

For what it's worth I have been on several other Voyager Class Ships and have found that class of ships to be very accessible. Also have found that the information posted on RCCL's website as to which public areas are accessible to be accurate. Personally never had an issue with getting into any venue of interest during any of my cruises on this particular class of ship.

Again for what it's worth I have been on many cruise lines and have found that IMPO RCCL has the most accessible ships.

Thank you so much, that is exactly the sort of information I was seeking in the first place.:)

  14. Yes CC is a forum that help disseminate useful information. With all do respect please refer back to your original post in which you specifically ask the question Are all public areas accessible. The RCCL link provide in my previous post does state which public areas are accessible and which are not so I thought that useful information was be disseminated between member.

It's unlikely that any cruise line will say that a particular lounge is accessible BUT, when full, wheelchair passengers may find it difficult to navigate their way to a free table. However someone who has cruised the ship with a wheelchair will certainly know which areas and times can prove difficult, and how this ship compares with others.

  15.

[, so we will have to look elsewhere for our hot weather cruises ]

    John,

I assume you don't like flying.

At least it avoids 3 sea days each way and the Bay of Biscay!!!

    Believe me 40ft waves(27th Oct 2013) were no fun!

Not that I don't like flying, although we had got rather tired of the process, its just that my DW is now restricted to a wheelchair and would find it too much hassle, but fortunately we seem to be fairly good sailors.

However for those able to fly there are some very good itineraries, I just feel that Celebrity could have put a bit more thought into the itineraries of their one remaining UK based ship.

  16. For future reference information as to what areas of the ships are accessible and which are not is posted directly on RCCL's website along with the deck plans for the ship. Here's the link for the Adventure of the Seas

Hope you find this information helpful.

Not really it does not answer the questions I posed, and yes I do know that some info exists on cruise line websites.

However I thought CC was a forum that existed to help disseminate useful information between members.
