  1. Don't tell anybody...but our friends wore shorts to dinner on the Caribbean Princess last summer....DH said if they can, SO CAN I (he still looks pretty sharp in his golf shorts & polo)
  2. Odd. It is showing up on our Jan. reservation. I also did a dummy booking & I see it....
  3. @Norwaylady Sorry to hear about your Luminae experience. Hoping it was a 1st day issue. We were a bit underwhelmed w/ Luminae on Beyond in April but overall pleased. But we didn't find it particularly better than Edge or Apex MDRs... Here's to better days!!!
  4. Thx. It was after final payment, so I guess we shall see. It is what it is!
  5. We had to cancel a cruise & had used 3 Cruise Next certificates. Will those be returned to our account?
  6. Interesting about the pork. Sept 2022 we were on Discovery. Aunt had pork loin in buffet & said dry & tasteless. She ordered it a couple days later in MDR--SAME. She did politely let waiter know. Luckily I rarely order pork or lamb; seafood nearly always my 1st choice.
  7. Carlos Oscar is quite good--one of the few good comedians at sea (Carnival clearly hogs the good ones) Overall Princess production shows are "Meh"--doesn't compare to NCL, RCCL or Celebrity Eclass shows (yep those have totally spoiled me) We saw Born to be Wild last summer w/ a musician friend. He & I were stunned--he said, "Is this a high school production??" The talent is solid; but I did feel like I was back in HS...
  8. It's so random. A member of our roll cal said they just got an email yesterday. Still nothing here!
  9. I needed cash for tips & occasionally a cab in May. I pulled 50E (or pounds) out at our 1st port that used that currency. (possibly more if we had tours booked & I KNEW I wanted tips for them..that would be "extra" I pulled). I could always leave extra for steward or other crew if we didn't plan on returning to the area soon. (had planned to do that w/ about 300 Norweigan Krone...then realized they were heading to the Med after our cruise last month...shoot. Maybe next year!)
  10. Well I used OBC in the casino--I figure it's worth the same on a land casino as on a ship! Sometimes I use it for excursions (unless I find it quite a cheaper via a 3rd party).
  11. Good to know. We are on Regal for B2B in April (TA & UK). We have done Chef's Table on Carnival & Royal and are interested in trying Princess. Would like to think we could snag it between the two cruises (28 days total) LOVING your TR. We are doing Caribbean on Celebrity & NCL in Dec & Jan before the Regal in April, so living vicariously thru you in both ship & destination!
  12. Dang. In March I showed up 11AM & walked right onto the ship! I was thinking Galveston is the BOMB...maybe not....
  13. Similar system. I have travel toiletries so I don't have to repack each time (especially nice when traveling so often). I have a bag of items just for overseas travel--easy to grab & go.
  14. Excursions, dining, drink package upgrade.
  15. Bizarre--when I click on your link it looks different than my pages. There is nothing on the bottom right of any of my pages. I logged in, clicked on your link & it still made me enter my reservation info. It does appear to allow me to do it...but it is odd how different it looks than when I have purchased other things for this cruise!
  16. Oh, I got LED tea lights & towel clips at the Dollar Tree!!! And I do have a multi-outlet adapter--dual duty for Europe & cruises where there are never enough outlets on those older ships for 2 people! As for everything else--we have stayed in a 130 sq. ft. interior to a suite. NEVER had an issue w/ storage, so no hooks, magnets or over door shoe things needed. (and we are VERY tidy/organized people). I don't need decor or ducks. There is a clock on my phone. Cruise provides mattress toppers & lanyards (unless it's a card then it slips in my pocket or bag) Now, I traveled solo to Europe for a month in May, including 3 weeks on a ship. Carry on only (plus backpack) as I had 2 quick train switches on front & back end in Europe. I did buy a few things to facilitate that--compression packing cubes, a lightweight but well-made carryon, a well organized backpack (I had been a tote girl...now a backpack convert), theft-proof crossbody bag, lip gloss-type "tubes" to decant liquid toiletries into, merino wool clothing that deters odors. BUT all of these things will serve me well as travel has now amped up now that we are both retired. I have used them all again & will continue to do so. I consider all of these things INVESTMENTS.
  17. Me too. Looked 2x yesterday & just now. I've got gifts, laundry & apparel. Nothing else. I'm in the US & taking a Caribbean cruise. I do have $47 OBC left from what I started with (used rest on excursions, drinks upgrade & Eden--not sure why we had so much this time but sure enjoyed it!)
  18. Yep, went there. Not there. Not in casino either. Weird.
  19. I don't see it there--am I missing something?
  20. I was aware the minisuite had no balcony when I bid. Pretty sure all club class have balconies
  21. Ha--we are seriously considering that cruise! We are looking at the Transpacific on the Royal Princess but DH would rather sail than fly to Sydney...plus air will be much cheaper just to LAX. Overall agree w/ your Princess "grades"--Celebrity is our fav, followed by Princess. You get used to the funky ship design--similar amongst ships. No sofa in balcony cabins--as DH said, we aren't in our cabins much, we just lay clothes on it, lol. Internet is VASTLY improved even from last year--YEAH Not much of a fan of production shows on Princess (like Carnival--meh), but game shows are great fun. DO NOT miss Hollywood Hiccups if they do it!
  22. GOOD to know...we got that "counter" email on our Europe sailing last month on the Island. Got a mini suite window room (no balcony). Lots of space but wouldn't get it again.
  23. There is a free pizza place & grill (burgers, tacos, hot dogs) poolside. All solid. (not up to Guy Fieri's...but solid) There is also 24 hour International Cafe off Piazza. Different offerings through the day--breakfast is pastries, fruit, egg bites, etc; later there are small salads, sandwiches, cookies. It is served TO you so not buffet style. This is a fav grab & go spot for us. (very much missed this on the Island Princess last month) We did our 1st Carnival cruise (after 25 cruises, 10 on Princess) in January on the Miracle to Hawaii & loved it. Princess doesn't have as much trivia as the Miracle did, and fewer comedians to be sure (but Oscar is one of the few on ships besides Carnival I have liked!), but game shows are generally great fun (if they have Hollywood Hiccups do not miss!).Production shows generally about like Carnival's--meh. But many movie offerings & the best TV selection at sea (not in our room much but when you want a quiet day...or the only place you can "stomach" due to waves is your room, you REALLY appreciate this! We are on the Regal for 28 days in April, so getting my Regal fix following you along. Enjoy!
  24. Thx for this...odd it says "no availability" when I plug info in...yet ship isn't sold out. No big deal; I just get a kick out of trying!
