  1. In April we will be going to the DR. We fly into Punta Cana and need a transfer to our hotel in La Romana. Do you folks recommend anyone? Here is where things get sticky. Jet Blue just changed our airfare coming home. We fly out of Punta Cana at 1130am now. I think we are cutting very close. It is all of an hour drive to Punta Cana airport. Is it possible to make it you think? We are cruising NCL if that helps. Thanks

  2. After many talks with NCL I decided I could not spend that kind of money without knowing my where I would be staying. I switched to Princess and booked yesterday. Seems like they have their act together much better. Thanks everyone that answered on here.

  3. Looking at NCL and Princess. Who has the best land tour and the best lodging? Is there a big difference? I am not real fussy but don't want to be in a shack either. Really looking at keeping the comparison between these two. It appears to me that Princess owns their facilities and NCL leases. Who has been to both? Thanks

  4. We are a group of 15 doing two back to back cruises in Italy and Greece in May. I have cruised many times and pretty much know what to expect food wise but looking for a menu if possible. Yes, I know they are changing menus on RC cruises but I do not believe it will make a huge diff. This year the Enchantment of the Seas is doing these two cruises where it was suppose to be the Brilliance. I expect they had the same menus when traveling overseas or at least close. Just hoping someone has something I can print off for the newbies.

  5. You guys are saying exactly what I know but was hoping I was wrong somehow. Venice is a city I can never see just once. I will see it again even if I just fly there and stay a few days. Thanks everyone for confirming that this could not happen. I wanted to be sure before I wrote it off.

It seems unlikely. The journey is 2-3 hours each way. It would leave so little time in Venice it’s hard to see it being practical. Maybe a day or two in Venice, pre or post cruise is the solution.

It sure seems like it would be rushed. Staying 3 days each in Greece and Barcelona. Then that work thingy gets right in the way....

  7. In May we will be doing a back to back that stops and starts in Revenna. We had hoped to get to Venice but ships no longer go there so that is out. Does anyone know of an excursion that could get us to Venice and back in time to make the second leg of the trip? I have emailed RC and they do not reply.

  8. That would explain why I do not find anything. We figure we will book in advance. With 6 of us dining together we will book all 11 nights and then figure it out on the ship. Easier to switch a reservation adding 4 more than trying to add 6 I would think. Well, thanks for the help. I can quit looking.

  9. We are doing NCL for the first time in Jan. We are on an 11 day Western Caribbean. My question is about the 5 free dining nights we have. I would love to pick them in advance but would want to see what is in the main dining room first. I have searched the web for menus but to no avail. I expect I have to wait until on the ship and then they pay venues may be getting full. We are traveling in a party of 6 and will probably dine together so was hoping to not wait until the last minute. Does anyone know where to find the menus I may be missing? How do you do it?

  10. I am not a drinker. I drink once a year and that is on our cruise. This year we have the benefit of the classic package. My wife does like to indulge. She lover her wines. Her flavors of choice are usually a Riesling. The classic package is good up to 9 dollars. Will she be happy with that? I am considering upgrading her and not myself. I do not think that I could tell the difference in a mixed drink of a better alcohol? I think a mimosa is in the classic package and want to try one. I do enjoy the ship drinks but really do not even know anything about them. I never purchase alcohol so know nothing about that. I lead a busy lifestyle that does not have the time for it. I am not against it. I know she wants to try the martini bar. I am thinking the upgraded package for that. I would be better off paying the difference for the one that I would drink. I am pretty sure I will be upgrading her package today and not mine. I guess the question is can I tell the difference in the taste?

  11. I just booked a few rooms with Royal. I would think the non refundable terms would be the same. I had to put a deposit of 900 per room. I went with the non refundable after calling them twice to verify how it works. They told me that if I canceled before the final payment I would loose 200 and the remaining 700 would go on an fcc(future cruise voucher) that is good for one year. I asked them if I need to be on the new ship in one year or commit to a cruise in one year. They told me I only had to commit. So if I commit to a cruise that is 18 months out after waiting a year to use the fcc that gives me 2.5 years to do another cruise with Royal. That sounded extremely fair to me.
