I never knew there was such a thing.  I've learned something new today.  I wasn't trying to debate. I was just trying to understand the issue.

Curious, what is the value of a missed port? Maybe a shore excursion not  booked through the cruise line?

    VTgreentraveler --

I apologize for my snippy responses to you now that I understand what your motive was.  The way I read your resonses, I could not tell you did not understand I was looking for the information to file a 3rd party insurance claim.  I am not trying nor do I expect to collect any compensation fron NCL....that is what I have 3rd party insurance for.  Not even sure a claim to my trip insurance will garner me any compensation but its worth a shot if I can figure out how to get documented proof my cruise missed a scheduled port due to high winds and could not dock.

Nationwide sells a cruise travel insurance policy that pays cash if your itinerary changes precruise, and also pays cash if your cruise misses a port during the cruise.

Thanks for posting klfrodo.  I get frustrated with posters (not you- you took the time to explain what I did not feel like explaining) who do not read and/or understand an original post and instead go off on their own agenda.  If one doesn't have relevant information requested in an OP, then simply do not reply to the thread.

Thank you to all of our Tribe for the prayers and encouragement and personal messages that lifted my spirits.  Nothing conclusive yet.  Biopsy was weird, no cancer cells in the initial results but MD was convinced that it was cancer.  CT scan saw indications that there was a malignant lesion in the area of biopsy.  Surgical visit on Monday so hopefully we'll have more information then.  Thank you all for everything.  You kept me from going over the edge on Wednesday.  I will keep you posted and you guys are like family.  Because of you I am less hopeless than I was earlier this week.  Keep the prayers coming.  Love you all!!

keeping y'all in my prayers and hoping for a good outcome.

  5. Living in NOLA, I usually do several cruises per year.  Nornally, self-assist debarkation starts at 07:15 +/- a few minutes (but factors outside of NCL's control can delay early morning arrival and thus disembarkcation times) but if you have a tight time line you need to be up and in line by 06:30.  There will be taxies lined up near door 1 of the terminal and are fastest way to leave direct from the terminal. Pay attention to your surroundings while approaching 1st security checkpoint when embarking and you can see where to catch a cab for your departure.  Ride share services take lomger than taxi from the terminal.  I have not tried the walking to Hilton or other location as I find getting a cab at the terminal to be quick.

noone from the credit desk got back to me. 😞

from past experience (on another ship), a 2 stripe accounting officer mans the credit desk on disembarkation morning.

so i was hoping it was the same in my cruise.

thankfully, i did not need to find out

So anyway.....My husband had a questionable Hemocult.  The VA decided to do a Colonoscopy.  It did not go well.  We will go back Friday for a PET scan.  Both of us are freaked the eff out.  He is too young to die and I can not do life without him.  We will know more Friday but for those of you that pray, please pray for Gregg.  He is an incredible man with compassion for all.  Thank you for all of your support.  The Tribe can make this happen, please from a wife that can not live without her husband.

Mimi  --  So sorry for Gregg's health issues and your having to go thru this.  Will include Gregg and you in my prayers.  Hope you get good results Friday.

Greenpea - what kind of oral surgery?

I had my first ever & hopefully only Root Canal on 12/30/19.

Had my first and so far only root canal the morning I was leaving on a cruise on a Carnival ship out of New Orleans.  During dinner, I discovered I still had cotton packing left in my mouth.....gross.

Sorry for the discomfort both y'all have experienced.

Hello all!  As many of you know, my Dad was in hospice.  He passed away peacefully on December 26, I think he held on a few precious hours so his passing wasn't on Christmas day.  All of my family is at peace and let him know that we would all be okay and that he had done a wonderful job raising his family.  Pretty amazing, with 5 kids, how close and supporting of each other we are.  So thank you all for your kind thoughts.  Peace be with all of you in the coming new year.

mommio -- So sorry for your loss.  Even when you know its coming, it is still difficult to deal with.  You and your family will remain in my prayers.

Hi Tribe--I have been AWOL due to oral surgery yesterday. It has not been fun, but things are improving slowly. Thank goodness for pain pills...although I would kinda rather have a big fat martini...Have to get caught up here!

Greenpea2 -- Hoping you have a swift recovery.

Have been dealing with dental issues since April 2019.  Tripped in a parking lot which resulted in cracked upper molar that had to be removed asap as pieces of tooth were dangling from my gums. Went to regular dentist for this.  We have a well respected dental school associated with LSU in the area but you have to go through an evaluation to be accepted for reduced cost care.  I wanted an implant to replace pulled tooth.  Student and her Dr. advisor said I needed other work done first.  Remove and replace 2 lower molar crowns.  During this process my student was pregnant and went out on maternity leave while I had temporary crowns in place with  2 cruises coming up.  After I cracked the temp crowns three times and replaced 3 times, another student put in my permanent replacement crowns after the 3rd time the temps cracked 1 week before cruise  (B2B on Getaway for 16 days total)....I was relieved. Back in town Thanksgiving week and went to dental student on Tuesday to have some casts made for the implant that started all this.  Still had to go back for CT scan of my mouth ( Dec 16) to see if enough bone left in jaw for implant.  This was done after another B2B of 12 days.  Won't get results until after 3rd week of new year as students are off til then.  Some of this has been painful and required I eat "mushy" food...UGH.  So bottom line I still have 3 to 6 months left if they can fit the implant.  All this with no dental insurance....whoopie.
