Today's been a tough one. At 1:15 this morning, my 15 year old dog woke me up panting and pacing. 10 minutes later she had the most intense seizure I could imagine. When it finally stopped, she had lost all movement in her back legs. I called my neighbor who helped me get her into my car. We rushed to the emergency vet and I made the decision to let her cross the rainbow bridge. Until the last 2 months, you never would have known how old she was. She was the spunkiest, happiest dog. She loved everyone she ever met and had the ability to make everyone smile with her quirkiness. She started slowing down recently and I knew the time was coming, but I had no idea it would happen the way it did. I worry about my other 2 dogs. They saw the whole episode and Georgie was shaking when I got home without her. I know it's going to take time and we'll get through it, but this one is hard. She's been my "right hand man" since I adopted her 13 years ago. We've been through it all together. Why can't our furkids live forever?

So sorry for your loss @MalleyCat.  That was such a freightning situation to go thru. Virtual hugs to you.

  3. Congratulations on the good new work job Kim.

Post however and whenever you want.  It will eventually get done and we will enjoy it whenever it happens.  Just recently getting back in the workforce and working long hours combined with your foot problems, I'm tired just thinking about it.

    Happy Mother's day.

Chicken wings are on sale for $1.88/lb until Wed.  Got one family pack processed and vacuum sealed going today or tomorrow for another pack.

My daughter, her boyfriend and two other friends have begun their ascent to summit Mt. Hood today. As a mother this frightens me beyond words. It is 3:30 am here and I am positive I will get NO sleep until I know they are off the mountain.  According to a conversation I had with her boyfriend a few weeks ago, there may be a sparkly surprise awaiting her at the top of the mountain (unless he chickens out)!

@mopedmom1 Sounds like a wonderful adventure if one has the skills, which I am sure your daughter and her group have.  I know your motherly instincts will give you anxiety until they are safely off the mountain.  If her boyfriend has the ability to make the climb, I sure hope he has the determination to use the sparkly thing in such a possibly once in a lifetime unique location.

Sending good thoughts to you to get through this adventure and to the climbing group for a successful climb.

I'm using my stimulus to buy them a stove. Junior is all for it. He's going to pitch in money and we'll call it a Mother's Day gift for his mom. We'll visit Home Depot next week to pick one out and order it. I'll pay for installation, too, and pray everything fits right in their 1940s kitchen.

Cindy  ---  Your a very kind person!!!!!!!!!!!!👍👍👍 The world would be a lot better off with more people like you.

To walk off all my nervous energy, I set out just as the sun was hitting the horizon. I have 5.5 miles in before 7:30 am.7FFD7419-B7B7-41E3-AA4D-AA219214D4E9.thumb.jpeg.2a0c52452d3454746fc27f4d1f4657ba.jpeg

It seemed quite a busy morning with air travel. The jet streams crisscrossed across the sky. Some lucky people are going on vacationC3DE876D-0D7F-45B9-A7B8-EFD1B951DB99.thumb.jpeg.37b872e307db4f120ab82ac63d7b0b5b.jpeg

Between dealing with water damage, contractors, picking flooring/paint colors and doctor visit, my anxiety has sadly gotten the best of me.

Yesterday was my follow on my exam results. I had to see a new doctor due to mine leaving the network. Instead of ordering a new EKG to see if the leads were improperly attached, he has ordered a stress test. He said he wanted to “get to the heart of the problem” Now, I have to wait 10 days for that. Beforehand I have to have a Covid test, it will be my first one.

I’ve been reading along daily to keep up but haven’t responded to posts.

For something funny....mailboxes in need of repair since they “just slapped a bandaid on” them

    @Slainte57

Great pictures as always.  They always cheer me up.  Sorry your Dr. appointment got moved back.  It seems like doctors don't worry about the stress they give us by saying we may have a medical issue and then take their sweet time running the necessary tests.  Hope all works out well for you.  Will keep you in my prayers.

Hi Cindy and Sid, I've been using the CBD oil I bought from Lazarus for a week now... do you guys primarily use it for pain relief, calming properties or to help you sleep?

I find it's not really helping with the sleep thing, and I'm a pretty calm person most of the time so don't need it for anxiety... we mostly want to use it for pain relief and so far, it's working for that, but it doesn't last for very long... what's your experience on how long the effects last? I take it at bed time and regularly wake up about 5-6 hours later, the pain in my hips and shoulders is back and I can't sleep anymore... should I take more at that time?

And for whoever mentioned that the taste is awful, you nailed it! I just make sure I have a drink ready to sip right after I put it under my tongue for a minute then swallow it to help get rid of the aftertaste! I just ordered 2 other flavors to see if we like them better without losing the effectiveness.

@Shaded Lady I have tried several flavors of tincture -- yuzu - very mild taste; french vanilla mocha -- pleasant tast that you get used to and can hardy taste the flavoring after a couple of doses ;  chocolate mint is my favorite.  Any new flavor takes a couple of doses to get used to but are nowhere as harsh as the Classic High Potency CBD Tincture.  I have two more flavors to try when I finish what I am currently working on  ---  birthday cake ( all mentioned tinctures to this point are high potency full spectrum ) and blood orange which is THC free. My favorite product is Cycling Frog 200mg Cannabidiol Softgels -- this is a relativey high dose but the softgels come in different potencies and are easy to take and I cannot tell difference between taking the softgels and tincture under the tounge.

I experimented with various doses and found for sleep ( which I have trouble with and take other meds for also ) 100 to 200 mg and I sleep very well.  This dosage also relieves some minor pain and I do not toss and turn which I have always had probles with and I get a solid 7 to 8 hours of good sleep. During day I sometimes take 50 to 150 mg as needed  for anxiety, depression, minor pain, pick me up or any combination.

I am not recommending my doses to anyone.  I suggest you experiment with various doses in slow increments until you are satisfied as everyone has different tolerances.

Hope you find the right dose for you.

I discovered Hometown Hero CBD company out of Austin. Decent prices compared to what I pay here and they offer a military discount. I submitted my DD214 and am awaiting approval before ordering. I like CDB for daytime use and flower before bed.

@fyree39 Lazarus Naturals offers a 60% discount for military.  Very good discount.  If you may be interested.

  10. Well, finally some positive events in my life.  Received 1st Moderna shot with only minor side effects that lasted two days.  Second positive may not seem that exciting but it was to me.  Have only been doing curbside pickup shopping since the beginning due to underlying health issues and while picking up Sam's order yesterday I had a very helpful employee do me a solid.  Have not had a rotisserie chicken since the start of this mess since you cannot select one for curbside pick up so when he delivered my order to my car I asked him if he would be willing to go get me one and he agreed.  I paid with scan and go when he brought it out.  Had some of it for dinner last night and it was probably the best meal I have had in a year.  Will get at least two more dinners out of it.

@Slainte57 I know its stressful and a lot of anxiety waiting to find out what may be going on with your heart but all you can do is keep trying to get an earlier appointment to get a positive diagnosis.  Hopefully it was just a bad EKG.  I went trough heart issues last year right at the start of the pandemic.  I was diagnosed with a bad heart valve and needing a pacemaker implanted. Turned out I had these issues for over a year but my cardiologist had missed them on tests I had done at that time.  Was scheduled for the procedures in very early March.  A couple of days before surgery everything was cancelled due to hospitals not doing "elective" procedures.  Didn't feel like it was elective to me but nothing I could do.  Had to wait until early July to have my procedures.  For four months I had to wonder if I would make it through the day and then the night.  With the added stress I was very afraid.  Thankfully things seem to have worked out but that was a hard 4 months especially with everything that was going on at that time.  Praying for you to have a positive outcome.

It was exactly two years ago today, that I arrived in New Orleans for the Norwegian Breakaway cruise that ended up sparking the Sid's Ay Tee El thread... It all began on Superbowl Sunday right here in Atlanta at Trader Vic's tiki bar, and from there arriving in New Orleans for one day of eating and drinking prior to boarding the Breakaway the next morning... It seems like only yesterday, but in reality it was sooo long ago. Now, we're all just dreaming of the day that we can return to the high seas.

Sid  --  I was also on that cruise.
