Sangster's Rum Cream. I can't find it here in the States. Always get some Ting, a beef patty, some rum, and a wood carving too.

We will be in Montego Bay for a day next October. Our plan is take a red plate taxi to Doctor's Cave Beach for the day. Probably do some shopping along the "hip strip" and make or way to Margaritaville for a drink before we go back to the ship.

Stamina really shouldn't be that much of an issue... There are lots of places to stop and rest for a minute to catch your breath. Most of the time, the pace is pretty slow anyways. There are plenty of places to easily get in and out of the water if you want.
For me, the hardest part is good footing and not slipping. Some rocks are under water and a bit slippery. It can be hard to find a good place to put your foot.
Take your time and go at your pace. Stop frequently - get wet - and enjoy it.
The best tip I could possibly give is to be sure you wear some water shoes. You can bring your own or rent them there.

We went to Bamboo Beach as part of a land based vacation in Jamaica. Very nice place to spend a day.
-
I would probably go for the Dunn's River Falls and Bamboo beach excursion.
-
You will find a wider selection of excursions from Ocho Rios. There are lots of fun things to do fairly close by...
Dunn's River, Mystic Mountain (bob sled ride and zipline), Turtle River Falls and Gardens, Blue Falls, and the very popular Scotchie's restaurant.

This is the first reggae themed cruise being put on by Damian Marley. It is on the Norwegian Pearl October 20-25, 2014. Ship leaves from Miami and stops at Montego Bay and Ocho Rios - then back to Miami.
Details can be found here...

Silver Sands is a gated villa community in the town of Duncans (between Falmouth and Runaway Bay). We have stayed in villas there four times. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and well maintained. Some water sports are offered (kayaks, snorkeling, etc.). They also have a beach bar and grill right there.
If you go, please say hello to our dear friend Roy (the lifeguard).

The bobsled ride is a blast. The kids will love it.
You take the skyway up to the top of the mountain. They have gift shops, bar, restaurant, aviary, and pool up there too.
The bobsled ride starts at the top and goes about half way down. The ride then brings you right back to the top. Then you take the skyway back down to the bottom of the hill.

My wife and I are booked for this cruise. We can hardly wait to leave.
It is officially sold out.
This will be our fourth cruise (all on Carnival so far).

As you can tell from my member name - I am a massive fan of reggae music. We are taking the "Welcome to Jamrock" reggae cruise in October of 2014 on the Pearl. Itinerary is Miami to Montego Bay, Jamaica, to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and back to Miami. Three of Bob Marley's sons will be on the ship, as well as many other stars of reggae music.
This will be our first cruise since 2003. Really looking forward to it.

These were private tours. Actually, I have never cruised to Jamaica. Only stayed in villas there.

I am a massive fan of reggae music. The pilgrimage to Nine Mile is a must for any true Bob Marley fan. Comments:
* Probably close to a 2 hour drive (each way) from Falmouth.
* The ride up into the hills of Jamaica is worth it alone.
* Admission is $20 per person
* You will be assigned a guide for your stay (please tip nicely).
* You will see where Bob lived as a child, where his mother is buried, and where he is buried.
* They have a restaurant, but service was very slow the day we were there. It might have been smarter to order before we went on the tour.
* Lots of Bob memorabilia there.
* Usually a small mento band performing there.

I've done the Appleton Rum Factory Tour twice now. It is a pretty long drive from any of the cruise piers. It was a lot of fun though. Comments:
* Admission was about $20 per person - that included a free rum punch.
* Guides are excellent and very informative.
* You will really learn how rum was made a long time ago and how it is made today.
* The place is surprisingly "green". Almost everything is recycled and re-used.
* The tour lasts about 30-45 minutes.
* After the tour, your guide will bring you a separate tasting room. The guide will describe all of the various rums and them leave you to sample to your hearts delight.
* Gift shop to purchase rum and a nice bar/restaurant.
HELP! Handicapped excursions in Montego Bay?!
in Jamaica

The humming bird sanctuary in Rockland's might be a good choice for your group. It is only a 30 minute drive from the Montego Bay pier. You would only have to walk less than 100 feet on basically flat ground (grass) to get from your bus/taxi to the sitting areas. You will be given a "nip bottle" full of sugar water that you hold out in front of you. The humming birds will literally come and perch right on your finger while drinking the sugar water. It is really a nice trip. My 83 year old mother-in-law did the trip just fine.
On the way back to the ship, make a stop for lunch at either Jerky's or the Pork Pit in Montego Bay to sample some delicious Jamaican jerk chicken or pork.
