  1. I just checked and they do have a little write-up with a picture under dining.
  2. Everybody else is chiming in, so I will too: MEH!!! Personally, I would have preferred Pan-Asian/Indian. All the items on the sample menu sound "over-composed", just like in the dining room. Every now and then, I would like something simple, but devine - a steak, a veggie, a starch, period. Sometimes phoo-phoo is just pooh-pooh.
  3. I loved your original post - that was hilarious.
  4. I think you mean "comprehend", not "apprehend", but then I'm a weird consumer.
  5. The last I checked, Luxor was in Egypt. If they aren't going to Egypt, they aren't going to Luxor. Would you care to amend? That was a pretty sanguine comment to the original poster.
  6. When they were killing and kidnapping, they were not asking what country they were from. Just because you are Australian does not mean you are safe.
  7. This is becoming more common. When we were in northeastern Canada in September, the cruise ship had to go slowly in certain areas because of sea life - usually whales.
  8. My husband and I build in some "dry" days on our longer cruises. These cocktails would be great for such times. I'm glad to see - and they sound interesting.
  9. I agree. We enjoy them because they usually require hiking or walking or something a little more active. Other than that, nothing stands out. Maybe we should get "points" towards a T-shirt. (Said in jest.)
  10. It was one of Seabourn's old "little sisters". The dining room was nice, but everything else showed it's age. Also, no balconies - I've got to have my balcony. I knew this going in but thought I would give it a try. Lesson learned.
  11. Why doesn't Seabourn remove the book dining reservations tab from the web site? That way - I won't keep checking to see if reservations are available. Geez - not professional.
  12. I have been on Windstar once - never again. It just can't compare to Regent. Have not been on PG.
  13. My husband disagreed with me. He said they aren't "flimsy plastic", but "thin nylon" and that they worked well and served a purpose. So, I stand corrected (that doesn't happen very often.)
  14. They are big enough to hold a large camera and a lens, BUT - they are a very flimsy plastic. Good enough for temporary use. I measured my husbands and it is about 24" X 14". I threw mine out as it didn't seem worth keeping. They are the kind that you roll down, and then clip together to keep things from getting wet. They don't have any external pockets. It's possible they have changed them since last December.
  15. QUESTION -- When we call the Regent Air desk, we can ask for an upgrade to any domestic legs we may have to take? I understand there will be an upcharge, but that is something they will take care of for me, right?
  16. Yes. The "observation lounge" in the front of the ship is the library with no bar. We prefer to sit at the front of the ship for sail away and such. It does have a coffee/soft drink bar. So, we always ended up pouring our cocktail in the suite and taking it upstairs with us.
  17. Just got off the Shadow a few weeks ago. We didn't have any problems. The ship was in good shape, and well maintained. (A few rusty spots don't bother me as I have a few as well.) I did find the layout of the ship to be a little odd, but the newer builds have corrected any "mistakes."
  18. Smoking is never allowed on a veranda. It is dangerous, not to mention obnoxious for your neighbors.
  19. Thank you - I learned something today. Unfortunately, I can't answer the posters question.
  20. We got off the Shadow a few weeks ago. The launderette can be problematic, if people aren't thoughtful and polite. There are hours posted on the door, I'm sure to protect those suites located nearby. We were always surprised to see the launderette being used outside those hours. Very inconsiderate.
  21. If one thing doesn't get ya, something else will. None of us of a certain age are getting off this planet alive.
