Do you have to check the status frequently? I signed up for email notification, but haven't received any. I wonder if it is working and whether I need to start checking weekly. Last time I checked, it said "in process." BTW, my situation is a little different. I applied for new passports for my children, non-expedited. At the time, I hadn't booked a vacation, so there was no hurry. Expected delivery was 8-13 weeks. We just booked a cruise, which will start at 17 weeks from when they received the application. I'm worried that if it's delayed, I won't have time to "apply" for expedited delivery.

That sounds fun! One of my kids wants to try snorkeling and Kananapali seems like a good place. How do you get there for the day? We have always driven around the islands, but car rentals might not be practical for one-day shore excursions.

We are on the same cruise 🙂 When you say plan accordingly, do you mean you will plan for a long wait, cut your onshore activities short, or ??? Is there a particular time that tours come back that we should try to avoid? This is our first cruise to Hawaii and have just started planning our excursions.

Thanks for the response. They would definitely wear shoes, not flip flops. They will bring at least one pair of pants (for formal nights), but they wear shorts and tees year round, the cold doesn't bother them!

Someone else posted a response to my similar question that shorts are okay in the MDR (at least for kids). I would think it's okay because you can't even see their legs at dinner! We'll bring one pair of pants for formal nights, shoes (not sandals), and nicer shirts.

I also wanted to ask if there was cell service on the ship while you were in port and at night between ports in Hawaii. Thanks for all the good info and food pix 😍

I believe you said there were not a lot of children on your cruise, but I am going in July with my 3 teenagers. Would shorts in the MDR be unacceptable for them? Given the weather and the fact that they will be sitting down the entire meal, I wonder if we would be turned away.

Under preferences/ocean compass/link child is where I tried to link up, but it didn't work. I was able to add them as dining companions. 🤔 I guess I will have to call in for that child. So much for tech!

There is no adult. We were allowed to book it because a parent is in the adjoining cabin.

I just booked and downloaded the app. I am 74 days from sailing. If there are things I cannot figure out on the app, can I just do the rest at check-in? For example, I cannot seem to link my booking to my two other cabins with my minor children, but I want to be able to "see" their medallions on the ship. Also, I have a minor child in an adjoining cabin. I can't log him in at all or even see his booking. Thanks.
