Has the pub lunch changed much over the years? I had it on the Ruby pre-covid and was not impressed with the fish and chips.

I was able to login to the app with my teen's booking number, name, DOB. Teens cannot register an account. However, I cannot agree to the contract of passage, so will have to do that at boarding time. There are a few things one cannot do online for teens traveling alone, such as book excursions. You could try calling Princess for that.

If you mean you need to complete Ocean Ready for the teens, are they in their own cabin? Or are the teens in a cabin with an adult? If they are in their own cabin, you can use the app (use their booking number) to complete some info, but it cannot all be completed in advance 😕

You can list them as travel companion now, but Princess told me you cannot "link" them in Ocean Compass (for tracking) until you check in.

I have never bought large gift certificates before, but this looks like a great deal. I would like to buy one $500 card to put on my account (mostly to pay crew gratuities). That sounds pretty easy to do on board, or possibly through my TA. Next, I have a second cruise booked with final payment due in September. Since I owe more than $5k, it sounds like I will have to buy 5 gift cards in July, August, and September. I can use these to make final payment through my TA also? Thanks for the explicit instructions.

This is the first time I have booked a cruise early. Can I wait until final payment is due to buy trip insurance?

Our first family cruise was a balcony cabin for 5 (on NCL Sun). The kids were 6, 6, and 8. It was pretty tight, but we had a great time! It can work if that's what you can afford.

I'm guessing no one has responded because there is no way on CruiseCritic to convey information privately, i.e., your mailing address or even your email address. Have you tried eBay?

Are the laundry hours still 8am to 10pm? I read an old thread that said there is one laundry room open 24 hours (I think on the Emerald, deck 5).

Could you possibly test to see if WhatsApp works to communicate with people off ship? Someone suggested that works too. Thanks!

Are you saying that I can use WhatsApp on board without using the Internet? I do not have any wifi/Internet package and was planning on being offline for most of my cruise (except for using cell service and data on port days). Having Whatsapp for emergency communication with people on land would be nice.

I looked into them, but according to their website, they only do rentals of 2 days or more. When I looked at their cars (on Turo), there was nothing available for the day requested. Have you used them recently for single day rentals? I guess I could call and ask?

Crossing our fingers, but we have a TURO rental in both Kauai and Hilo that we can pick up very near the pier. I didn't want to have to deal with getting to the airport for a regular agency rental.

When I first made dinner reservations a couple of weeks ago, I only saw 2 of the MDRs. I just checked and now all 3 are available. Sailing in about 6 weeks. This has been asked before, but hoping to get more answers: on the Crown class ships, is any dining room easier/faster? On the Ruby a few years ago, we always ate in the DaVinci because we were assigned there.

I eventually found that updated list showing the correct ship on the correct date and pier 27.

My child is in the next cabin alone and he IS linked to my booking. I can login to his booking online, sign up for the teen club, and a few other things, but still cannot agree to the contract for him.

FWIW, I traveled with my own two minor children with passport cards and it was a small hassle. Princess said they needed to take extra steps in case we were separated in another country (Mexico). I can only imagine it would be more difficult to travel with an unrelated minor.

Is it still true that the DaVinci dining room is closed on embarkation day on the Crown?

For what it's worth, I was able to book the 3 rooms with a minor in a cabin alone NEXT to a cabin with the parent. It did not need to be a connecting cabin. However, I don't know if there is an age restriction. Mine is16 yo.
