  1. Looking forward to hearing about your cruise as well as the condition of the ship and crew. A previous live thread mentioned that the ship seemed understaffed and the crew a bit overworked. Also, if you have time or happen to visit the gym, could you report on whether they have foam rollers. I need one for physical therapy, but they are so large that it would take up a lot of space in my luggage. Many thanks.
  2. First, thank you for your review. I already have a cruise booked on the Crown, so I may need to adjust some expectations. I'm sorry the food was disappointing, but since you mentioned that you're foodies and that the plating and menu choices were outdated, would you say the food is basic or maybe homestyle and not fancy? Was there anything wrong with the preparation or flavors? Also, since you went to the gym, did you see any foam rollers? If I don't have to pack one, that'll save me a lot of space 😁
  3. That's good to know. I prefer the DaVinci because it's easier to get to, so we'll talk to the DR manager when we get there.
  4. I did make a reservation in DaVinci for same time every day on the app, but I wanted the same table and waiters. The DR manager said he could not set aside a particular table, but they could in Botticelli. Just wondering how they handle that request on crown.
  5. If you have a moment to answer a couple of questions about the Crown: 1. Is there an MDR (or more than one) where you can ask for the same table every night? I was recently on the Emerald and learned that this could only be done in Botticelli and I had not reserved there. 2. Is there still a free sauna & steam room near the gym? Does the gym have foam rollers? Thank you!

  7. I did a quick search and couldn't find the answer. Can I buy a single day of Internet access? I don't want the whole plan. I think I've heard of people doing this right before debarkation to check flight status, etc. And what is the cost? I'm not elite.
  8. A tender is nice place to view the town and a chance to see the ship at anchor. I'm glad they're replacing the port at least.
  9. I have a similar problem. I had refundable and non -refundable OBC. They debited the non-RF first. When I asked them to correct it on board, they told me it would be fixed. It was not. My post cruise folio, which had a refund due, was zeroed out. I called and sent a message through princess.com, but have heard nothing in nearly 3 weeks.

  11. This was how it was done on the Emerald in July. Things may change of course. I think walk ups were welcome at all dining rooms. Is there a reason you don't care for Botticelli?
  12. I originally made reservations in the app for same time every day in DaVinci. After my first night, I asked the DR manager if I could get the same table every night. He said no, that could only be done in Botticelli DR. So, that's what I would suggest for you.
  13. With the machines being free, does that make it more crowded? I was just on the Emerald and getting (paid) self service laundry done was a challenge!
  14. Oh no. I had a problem with my folio on my July cruise. I was on the phone for over an hour and used the past guest contact on the website as well. I guess I will just email them every few weeks.
  15. I'm glad to hear the beds are good. They must have recently replaced the mattresses.
  16. My husband walked into a store, near the cash register which registered his medallion. I guess when the cashier asked the actual buyer if his name was (husband), the person said yes 😕
  17. So, we went to Honolulu and the kids paid the reduced fare in cash ($1.50 each trip) with no problem. I had brought their school IDs just in case, but no need.
  18. Also, did anyone happen to get a video (or good picture) from the Hawaii Farewell show (July 19)? We ran out of video and only got the first 5 minutes.

  20. Wow, that picture is crazy. We did have a little delay in debarkation (about 30 minutes from our expected time). Our family of 5 traveled with only 3 suitcases, so it wasn't our fault!
  21. I have a problem with my folio/onboard account. I have been on hold with Princess for the last hour and can't get a live chat representative. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on how else to get some help.
  22. We did not have a ship excursion. We waited in line to get shuttle group 3. We were prepared to get a later shuttle, but got lucky.
  23. Didn't see any shade over there. Am closer to the whaler's village.
