  1. VID-20240416-WA0000.mp4 Recieved this from a friend in South Africa, I think it's the Cloud leaving East London? But whatever that looked a rollercoaster of a ride.
  2. I've been in Buenos Aires for the past 3 days and I'm blown away with this city, loving it all , the architecture, the exceptionally wide avenues the greenery, the food , the wine, the people. It's my first time in South America and this certainly won't be the last time. I'll put Uruguay on my new list.
  3. Can you still climb Uluru? I think I remember reading some years ago that they closed it to tourists trecking up and down.
  4. I went through the stockperks app which worked just fine. Downloaded the app furnished my name and DOB and a standalone note from my broker confirming shares held in CCL. OB spend confirmed 4 days later.
  5. I just received the following from my broker....... maybe they are enforcing this from December and those of you who applied in November got lucky.. Dear I am writing you in relation to your cruise sailing on Seabourn has recently advised us that they have new approach to claiming on board credit and will no longer accept any faxed, emailed or hard copy proof of eligibility send to them for processing. All guests are now required to upload their proof of share ownership to the StockPerks app, where StockPerks will verify if guests have the applicable shares to qualify. StockPerks will be their new vendor which will handle all proof of eligibility for all guests requesting their shareholder on board credit. Steps to follow: - Download the app to the device of choice - Create an account - Ensure you have an existing booking in place - Upload the proof of 100 Shares Hence, as you hold shares with Carnival Plc, I am able to provide you with a Proof of Holdings. As requested, please find attached a Proof of Holdings stating how many shares you hold with Carnival PLC. If you have any trouble with the process to contact Seabourn directly.
  6. "Simple with 3 very nice cheeses" and a drop of port👌
  7. Bon Voyage Mysty, As someone once said "the most beautiful moment in life is a departure to unknown lands" maybe a little exaggerated but the sentiment is true. Enjoy it all.
  8. Stunning, particularly the Horsehead Nebula.
  9. When I first discovered Amarula the explanation for the elephant on the label was that they loved the marula fruit which apparently fermented during their digestion and made them tipsy. It was a nice story to market the drink but unfortunately its been debunked as just an amusing myth. Nonetheless I still want to believe it. And yes its a lovely drink.
  10. Great photo's and narration JP, definitely worth the 5.00am wake up call.
  11. For those looking to pep up the humble Sunday roast
  12. Glad you got to enjoy some of the sights, shame about the Medina but probably understandable. The French Embassy is in that area and recently there has been protests in front of the place, unfortunately they often get a bit animated. Not something that tourists should be seeing!
  13. Lucky you, we've never been to Botswana , we safaried in the trans frontier national park, which is about as close as we have been. Presume you will get to the Okavango delta . Looking forward to following your trip.
  14. For a sailing in Jan 24, ie 3 months out
  15. I received an offer from my TA in UK for a January sailing, it was basically a forwarded letter from Seabourn with the upgrade offer. PH suite on Venture for £499 per person and wintergarden for I think £3299 pp.
  16. Gosh, I'd forgotten her, I have a few of her CD's at the bottom of one of our many CD boxes. I might fish them out tonight, I think the first one I bought was sax a go go many years ago. Always enjoyed listening to her. Thanks for the clips.
  17. I've lost count of the number of recommended doses, is it 4 or 5 now? Think I've had 4 but it might be 3 .
  18. I went to New Orleans about 10 years ago and seem to remember that even though gambling was illegal there were a couple of swanky casinos. Obviously I asked the burning question to be told that although gambling was illegal gaming wasn't. Is that true or was that just an amusing story?
  19. A much better day for America today. But they have left a lot to do tomorrow, advantage definitely Europe For anyone interested in what the teams were wearing: USA: dark blue trousers, white polo with dark blue and red hoops, finished with a red and white stripe on the rim of the collar Europe: dark blue trousers with a red fleck on the pocket, white polo with burgundy stripe on the shoulder .
  20. Yup, no one would have predicted that this morning. On paper America looks to have more depth but somehow the team just didn't click. As you say they really need to bring their "A" game to the course tomorrow . Go Europe
  21. So it's the biennial Europe v USA Ryder cup golf comp starting today. This 3 day format of match play, foursomes and fourballs format makes a pleasant change to the regular tour comps. Good luck to both teams but obviously I'm cheering Europe.
